That right there is the definition of mediocre.
And as a Cowboys fan (both Wyoming and Dallas) it pisses me off to no end. I've been a Cowboys fan since I was small, and watched them win the Championship in '92, '93', and '95. Since then, it's been mediocre to say the least. The second half of that game yesterday afternoon was hard to watch. And it makes me angry that I watched the first half knowing that it would come down to an ending like that.
I think the problem really is Jerry Jones. You can't have an executive micro-managing every aspect of the organization like that and expect it to be successful. And I don't pin much of the blame on Romo. He's playing with what he has, which should be good enough to get the job done. But when you've got a defense that gives up a 23 point halftime lead, you can't hang that one on the quarterback, even if he did throw the late interception. Shouldn't have come to that.
Oh well, here's to a new day in Wyoming Cowboy football, and hopefully in Dallas Cowboy football sometime soon.
GO POKES!
The blame always gets put on the QB.
Remember just a few weeks ago when the Broncos DEFENSE gave up a 24 point lead? Then the special teams fiasco in OT and NE won? Then everyone was all over Peyton saying how he choked.
It's ridiculous.
But same with the credit for QBs.
I remember when Peyton threw 7 TDs he got all the credit, meanwhile Demaryius Thomas ran 70+ yards for a TD on a screen pass.
And half of the other TDs weren't even impressive throws, the defense blitzed, and Peyton just lobbed it to the TE over the middle wide open.
That's the thing about QBs though, they always get the blame and the credit.
Brett Smith could have thrown 7 TDs that night against Baltimore the way the WRs got open. Does it mean he is as good as Peyton Manning? NOT EVEN CLOSE. But my point is, the O-Line and the WRs/TE did ALL the work and Peyton had the luxury of just throwing the ball to open guys and it worked. But at the end of the night, everyone was talking about how Peyton just destroyed the Baltimore defense and threw 7 TDs.
Then a few weeks later, he gets blamed for a loss when the defense and special teams totally fucking choked.
The life of a QB right?
