I am actually surprised we aren't in the 100's. And they have some pretty nice things to say about us, and pretty realistic as well. Not only that but they have a link to the top alternate jerseys worn in 2013 next to us, and a picture of a Poke wearing a brown helmet with the state flag in it.

MWC Rankings:
1-Utah State at 33
2-Boise State at 41
3-Fresno State at 54
4-Nevada at 71
5-CSU at 73
6-San Diego State at 74
7-WYOMING AT 87
8-UNLV at 93
9- San Jose State at 101
10- Air Force at 103
11- Hawaii at 116
12- New Mexico at 117

The MW is still hurting without BYU, Utah, and TCU years later. We went from being a very strong top heavy conference to being highlighted by the amount of teams we have in the bottom half. The average ranking for the MWC is 80.25. There are only 3 teams in the top 70, 2 in the top 50 and 1 in the top 40.

Other schools:
My Beavers come in waaaay too low at 62 (They are receiving coaches polls votes for the Top 25 yet NFL.com thinks they are 62 out of 128?)

Top 10:
1-Florida State
2-Oregon
3-Alabama
4-Oklahoma
5-Auburn
6-Ohio State
7-Michigan State
8-South Carolina
9-UCLA
10-Baylor

It seems like South Carolina is ALWAYS in the Top 10 yet they haven't won the SEC in a long time, or made it to a BCS Bowl.
I wonder if South Carolina fans are ready to get rid of Spurrier or not. I know that being a constant in the Top 10 is awesome for a program, but down there in SEC country, being in the Top 10 might not be enough. Who knows though, I never hear much about South Carolina so I don't know what their fanbase is like at all.

I think they're selling Boise short. Much as I hate to say it, they have too many talented players to take much of a dip, even in a down year. This hurts, but I have to pick them over my Aggies for the Mountain division championship. We might have a chance if our game were in Logan, but we have to play on that damned blue rug.

I'm excited for Wyoming. I think you have the perfect storm, in a good way. I'm looking for you to have the same kind of turn around we experienced six years ago when we picked up Gary Andersen as HC. Right man, right place, right time.

Go Pokes! Go AGGIES!

Compared to most of the major magazine outlets, yeah these rankings are a little optimistic when it comes to USU. But obviously there is no clear runaway favorite for the MW this fall. The MW Media day poll serves as evidence to the prior statement....for 2014 at least, it's up for grabs. BSU is recruiting at another level compared to the rest of the MW though...so they'll only get better. Now is the time to pounce before the Broncos field a team similar in talent to the TCU teams of the old MW. Their recruiting is that good.

I like where USU's program is headed though...but replacing elite QBs is sooooo hard for non-P5 programs. Boise, Hawaii, Nevada, soon to be Fresno...there is usually a 2-3 year period at the minimum before that QB position stabilizes again. Utah State has to shine in 2014 while Keeton is still around. You never know when that window will close.
