I don't think you'll be seeing Washington on the floor much this year. He just doesn't have the goods compared to the other young players now. He is primed to take Bentz's place next year. Just my observation. (but who knows - maybe he will put in the required effort)

I thought he was injured and that is why he isn't in shape? Not lack of effort?

I was kind of hoping to redshirt Washington honestly...especially as he is hurt (ankle / foot?). But even as such, he is light years ahead of turnover boy...several games last year he dropped in close to 20, and has solid ball handling skills.

After hearing about the redshirt Washington thing I stepped back to ponder it. Here's the most positive thing I thought about. Maybe Trey sees this is a special team and wants to be apart of it so he refused the redshirt. The team has gotta be thinking they can go to the NCAA tourney this year if healthy. So it's your sophomore year and you have a chance to compete for PT on a tourney level team. A chance to battle in the national spotlight. Maybe he's looking to get his shit together and turn it up a few notches for us. Maybe like Sellers or McManamen he's already put in work and gotten better. We will see, but with this team I prefer to speculate on the positive aspects until proven negatives occur.

I think Washington has a ton of potential. He started off last year hot and had some great games then he started forcing it and shooting terrible and lost all his confidence. Who knows how good he will turn out to be but I am definately not writing him off after his freshman year. He has good ball skills and is very quick and was supposed to be a goood shooter so I think he will get some confidence and his shot will return.

Could be...I think he is a great addition myself, this year, next year, whenever.

Maybe he is looking at this year's freshman along with next years class, and thinking to himself - wow, we are going to be phenomenal in 2 - 3 years, and I could be the main man leading the charge.

Good thing about it...it will be fun to watch either way.

1. Bentz is very competent at running the offense when we need him to.

2. He may not be a big scoring threat

3. ...but the kid keeps the ball in our hands and does what is asked of him.

1. No he isn't - he is a turnover waiting to happen.

2. Very true, which is a huge issue - I would rather UW play 5 on 5 than 4 on 5.

3. See #1

Come on Aaron...I get the love for the walk-on kid, but he is...well...not good.
Thank you!
