News out of SEC Country

FTA: "The move is not a huge surprise, as Texas A&M is in the process of an offensive overhaul with newly-named offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, who was hired away from UCLA in January"

FTA: "Christensen was brought in to improve A&M's physicality and ability to run when it wanted and needed, but the offensive line struggled in 2015 and A&M's run game often faltered in short-yardage situations. Christensen, a former head coach at Wyoming, made $475,000 a year, just shy of former offensive coordinator Jake Spavital's $500,000 salary."

"Improve physicality and run when it wanted and needed." Did they even watch him at Wyoming? Like, seriously watch him? Those are two things I would have never described about him. "...faltered in short yardage situations." Lol.. that's more accurate.

I liked Dave - he had some great ideas. I'm glad he is gone though. His ideas translated to some ol school cow shit. Some of that shit was awesome though!

He was lucky at Mizzou. The right recruiting coordinators were in place. The right defensive coaches were in place. He had an opportunity to experiment with the offense. He didn't have to recruit the guys - they were handed to him. It was a perfect storm.

He came to Wyoming - and I do believe if he believed in the whole team mentality and wasn't a dick - he might have succeeded here.

I couldn't out coach dirt myself. But I at least belive in the people I bring on. He didn't. He should have been OC under Joe Glenn with Breske as the DC. (We probably needed an improvement in recruiting then too though).

I doubt ol Joe would have put up with him. He was too much of an ass.

I hope Bohl Stanard/Vigen get something moving this year - I'd love to see .500.

Probably a blessing for him. May not seem that way, but you can't be a total dick in every aspect of public-coaching-life, and expect to get the breaks. So...he has been axed at UW (and bashed us on the way out), axed at Utah (and bashed them on the way out), so we'll see what happens in the next short while.

Based on trajectory (OC to HC to position coach), I would guess the next step is most certainly FCS or lower and likely a position coach, maybe an OC.

Thing is, the guy has made more money in a few years than many people make in a lifetime. If he invested wisely, maybe he just retires.

I also liked some of his ideas and appreciate some of the things he was able to accomplish, but man talk about getting away from the mothership (Pinkel) and being exposed...
