I guess his commitment was preemptive. I saw somewhere else that he hasn't made a visit and tore his ACL in the fall.

Really? Would love to read that...

Well if this kid did tear his ACL I wouldn't care as long as he has worked hard to rehab it and gets back to being healthy. From watching his tape he looks like a game breaker. The fact he was 2nd team all state as a sophomore in the state of California which is in the top 3 football recruiting states would be a huge get.

Hope his knee is doing well then and he can get back to doing what he is on film. Wondering if the only reason we had a shot at this kid was because he tore his ACL? Kid looks good enough to play at one of the big schools.

Hopefully the kid makes a complete recovery and his college football dreams come true.

Too bad our wrestling program isn't "cowboy tough" enough to revoke scholarships when someone gets injured...

That is too bad; I feel for the kid. I sure hope he makes a complete and speedy recovery wherever he ends up.

This is always a tough situation because you understand the hesitation to offer if you aren't sure if the knee will heal or if he will be same after it does.

I almost wish there was a "conditional scholarship" where kids like this don't count against the scholarship limit until they are on the roster. Basically, make it a 2 year deal. The school commits to pay tuition (or something) and the kid is part of the team for a couple of years. If after 2 years the knee isn't better or too inhibitory to play football at this level, the kid can decide to pay the rest of his way here or transfer out.

The benefit to the program is that you could gamble on kids like this and it wouldn't cost too much if they didn't work out. For the kid, they get experience and 2 years of college down that is partially paid for.

Seems weird to me... You would think we would be willing to work with anyone willing to commit to us....
Sometimes you offer more than you need and accept on a first come, first serve basis. He seems like he would be a good get, but we have a few db's already in this class. Maybe a rb.

Maybe this means we've got some big time recruits we're working on (hopefully DLs)? That's the only explanation I can think of because Brandon Robinson's tape looks as good as any I've watched among our current commits and it seems like it'd be worth it to take a chance on him.

Shane Henderson......a hell of a good looking walk-on IMO.
