Saw this on GWG board. Looks good in the video. Apparently verballed this fall to DC and staff. Don't know if coaching change will change his mind.

From what little I can find about him, he's 6'2 194lbs, pro style QB. Recruited by FCS schools mainly, other than us.

Though, its odd we hadn't heard of him until now.

I know his listed as a pro style QB, but he played in a spread O in HS. The kid throws a nice ball and is accurate on his roll-outs

Pro style means that you don't run read option plays with him, well, not as much as you would with a dual threat QB.

He looks pretty good. I like his accuracy on passes that went over 20 yards in the air. But he also has quick decision making and accuracy in a short passing game as well. He even has some scrambling ability to buy some time when the OL breaks down.

Will be interesting to see if/when the new staff contacts him? He definitely looks pretty good IMO. For all the things Christensen struggled with, QB recruiting generally wasn't one of them. Definite eye for QB talent.

Good arm, good pocket pressence, good decision making ability. He's not fast, but he's got quick feet.

What were his stats for this last season, anyone know?

And yeah, DC, despite everything else, did have a good eye for diamond in the rough QBs.

This commit looms large now. He's got a chance to come in and immediately compete for the starting job.

Bohl is going to look for a West Coast Offense type of QB. That is what he and Vigen are most comfortable with.

Throws a good long ball with accuracy. Quick release. Good field vision. Good pocket presence with the ability to scramble & throw on the run.

He looks like a better option than what UW currently has for 2014....Give DC credit, if he was good for anything, it was his eye for QB talent...hope Bohl holds onto him. He's very much needed now.

Keaton studsrud. He's better be on our radar. Cold weather kid from minnesota.
He has some of that ability to escape pressure that makes up for other flaws, I would be happy if UW added him and a couple JC recruits to the QB battle.

Just watched his highlight video and I'd honestly be ok with him too. Are either he or Chris Little actually likely to come here, or is this just rumors to pass the time?

Keep in mind that Highlight Videos are just that.....Highlights. There is a reason Colleges DO NOT use them as recruiting tools.

According to scout.com we've been in contact with him, just not sure when.

From what I have heard and read, Coach Bohn did a lot of traveling (much of it flying his own plane) to meet high school coaches and players all over the Dakotas and Minnesota, so I would bet he has met and/or watched this young man. I'm sure Coach Bohl has a great number of connections all over that area.

Absolutely, but I do keep that in mind when I watch the videos. I don't claim to have the same eye for talent that a Head Coach has, but I feel that I do a decent job of being objective. For example, the year that ACS left and the university liked to lots of highlight videos of kids who had already signed, a collection which included 2 QBs about 5-7 RBs/WRs, and a few defensive players, I said that of all the videos I watched, the 3 that stood out to me and who looked like they'd do just fine in FBS football were Brett Smith, Dominic Rufran, and Eddie Yarborough.

I don't know if either of these two kids are going to be spectacular, I just think either one would be fine for now.

I hear just saying that when ever we get a highlight video it either goes in the garbage or we send it back to the recruit and thank them for their time and interest in the university. Generally we ask for an unedited game tape of three games. But Highlight videos serve a purpose i suppose.... Typically, we will go to the video server that the school is using ie. "huddle" and watch game film as opposed to "Highlights".
