Michael Aanonsen is ready to show off his latest project. He guides an onlooker from the door of his equipment room to a rack set up in the back, weaving between folded football pants and stacked shoulder pads along the way. The longtime UW football equipment manager stops and reaches out.

Here they are. He rubs the smooth gray material between his fingers.

“A year and a half,” Aanonsen says. “This was in the making for a while.”

I showed the picture of the jersey to my wife and she said it looks like someone barfed on the shoulders. I'm not a fan of all the combos, particularly yellow jerseys. I'm an old school sort of guy and wish they'd stop screwing around with the traditional brown and gold jerseys. But, if it helps recruit great athletes to UW, then I'll just grit my teeth and live with it. :roll:

No. Brown and gold has ugly half ass camo ones for sale if you are interested.

I liked em too, it was something different, its not like they will be wearing them every other game. Pretty sure it was a one time jersey

they looked better in person and on tv than they did online. Maybe the rain helped by making them darker.

The need to seriously look at how to retain the gray part of that uniform. It really popped on the TV and streams I watched. The camo part I suggest be replaced, but the overall effect was good.

That's not bad, though I still standby what I've said about the camo unis, should have gone with a desert camo look. That way we keep the Brown & Gold, but it actually looks like a camo uniform.
