AJ West scares me big time, and Coleman had a huge game against the Lobos in that come from behind win, they are gonna be tough, but having Larry on the bench helps. I hope we play that uptempo style again tonight.
We really need this one to go into the 8 day bye letting Larry get practice, gain some more pounds from the 13 he lost.
Fans if you can get the AA on Feb.25 and esp Mar. 4, we need your support big time as a Larry Nance Jr doesn't come down the road that often in Laramie.

I thinking we beat Nevada but as usual it'll be a toughie
UW 62 Nev 60, pull away with Riley at the line!!! GO POKES, Beat the Wolf Pack

Plus i can see the Lobo's beating SDSU tonight as well, hence going back into a tie for 1st, yes i know tie breaks etc...but it's nice to see that regardless, Cmon Lobos

Just my observation from watching some of Nevada, NM game -- Outcome will depend on how well Pokes defend against the threes - or how hot Nevada is on making them. Down low, I think Pokes OK.

If the same SJSU Josh Adams and Co. show up the Pokes win by 7-8. Don't let Nevada's W/L fool you. They are a decent team that can beat any team in the MWC.

They smoked Air Farce
Beat UNLV, loss to UNLV (barely)
Got rolled by USU twice
Loss to Fresno twice (close games)
Loss to SDSU by two (had chances to win)
Barely beat SJSU recently
Just beat New Mexico

Truly a team just as bipolar as we have been at times this year.

Ya know, I wouldn't really consider our team bipolar this year. Last couple weeks I have been feeling that, mostly because the attitude of this board. But then you look at our record at 20-6 and realize we are not bipolar... we are just good, and happened to have a horrible 2 game stretch. That is all.

The past five game stretch definitely seemed bipolar.

Crushed by USU
Crush CSU
Crushed by Air Force
Crushed by SDSU
Crush SJSU

five game stretch was Jekyll and Hyde like

The only one that doesn't make sense is the loss at USU (but that is a tough venue). When healthy we beat the CSU's, Boise's, etc. When the top player in the conference goes down, you have let down games like at AFA and SDSU (would have been tough regardless). Anybody can and should beat SJSU, but the team looked prepared to play without Larry.

I'm surprised the Pokes are favored. This would be a huge win considering there will be time for Larry to heal between this and the next game.

On my offshore betting site, the line has us +1.5. Frankly, without Nance, i would have thought we would have been 5 or 6 point dogs.

My local book has the Pokes a 1 point favorite. I think this game is a coin toss. Last one with the ball wins????

I think with hearing that Herndon will start again, hearing he is getting better, and realizing he can actually shoot is the reason we aren't 6 point dogs.

William Hill at a pickem now.

I'm taking Nevada ML as hedge for entertainment value. I don't mind paying for Wyoming wins.

I agree with you that we are actually very consistent, but we didn't just happen to have a horrible 2 game stretch. We played 2 games without Nance and then played SJSU which is functionally a D2 team (and not a good one).

Over the last two seasons, we are 36-13 with Larry Nance and have been in every single game down the stretch. Without him we are 2-8 including a number of awful blowout losses.

We are very consistent, with Nance a bubble NCAA team that is in every game. Without him, a last place (non-SJSU division) MWC team.

I hope Wyoming wins of course but looking at this game it seems to me that without Nance Nevada will win this game at home. We beat SJSU but everyone in the conference has beat at home by 18 points or more. A couple of teams beat them by almost 50 so beating SJSU doesn't mean much to me.

Nevada lost to SDSU at home by 2 and then just took down New Mexico. Have a hard time seeing Wyoming winning this game.

Now on the other hand 11 straight MWC games have been won by home teams so if you want to play the law of averages game you would think at least 1 if not 2 road teams would win tonight. If only one team was going to win on the road though I would say SDSU has the better shot than Wyoming does.

Anyways let's hope the law of averages is on our side and the Pokes can get the win. Would be a nice win also without Nance and getting him back next week we would be ready for the stretch run.

Yeah but turn that negative attitude into positive and think about how the standing will look if the home team wins the NM-SDSU game and the road team wins the Wyo-Nevada game :D

Trust me , not trying to be negative at all. Just looking at it from a realistic perspective . I do hope it turns out like you are saying by all means as I would love to be tied for first place after tonight :D

I use 5 dimes. I'm right with you on the side. From a gambling perspective, you have to take Nevada. Our road wins have been nail biters. In my mind, there are 3 possible outcomes: We win a close one, we lose a close one, or we lose by 10 or so. Winning comfortably would be an unexpected and new result for us on the road.

Agree with you guys. From a wagering perspective Nevada is the play . I won't be playing it though as I am hoping Wyoming can do something unexpected and win tonight.

Tonight I am playing Notre Dame and Southern Illinois.

You guys playing anything else besides Nevada?
