Nance is a Cowboy!

Congrats on getting Nance. I wrote an article on Larry Nance Jr. Committing to Wyoming. He talks about why he committed, the future of Wyoming, and more. Please check it out and tell me what you think. http://duffyhoops.blogspot.com/2011/04/nance-jr-chooses-wyoming.html

It's amazing what can happen when you hire a couple of well respected and connected coaches like Shyatt and Duncan. We always hear about how recruiting to Wyoming is impossible and yes, recruiting to Wyoming is a unique challenge, but it can be done and this past month shows that.

I think this is probably the best class we could possibly have hoped for given the current situation.

20 wins because of some new freshman? i think we will be decent but idk about twenty wins all though i would love that

I'm extremely impressed with the recruiting class Coach Shyatt & his staff got on board to Wyoming. This is going to be a fun team to play on and a fun team for the fans. The fans are going to come back in droves and the AA (aka "The Dome of Doom") is going to be rockin again. I can't wait to see how the rest of the team responds to this coaching staff now that we are just about injury free and full strength. Go get-um Pokes! :thumb:

I think 20 wins is probably not feasible right now. I just hope to see a team that plays with fire and can at least defend its home court, maybe knock off a team or two that we shouldn't.

I'm not so sure that 20 wins isn't unatainable next season; not sure what the schedule looks like for next year yet, but remember when Shyatt was here last time he took over a team in a similar situation and turned them into a 19 win team, and I'm not sure if he was able to land the type of recruits he's landed this year. I think he's probably a better coach now than he was then after spending the time he did with Donavan at Florida. The only drawback that I could see is the Cowboys youth causing some growing pains that could keep them from attaining that goal. But should be an exciting year for the Pokes next season....is it November yet?

I believe Nowherepoke pointed out in a post that Joby Wright's last team was 8-8 in conference (thats a tough one to remember). That is a hell of a lot better than the past two years of 3-13 conference ball we have played under Shroyer. I would say this is a significantly worse situation than last time. There are some similarities, but the program is at it's lowest point in 30 years. Its gonna be tough to win 20 games.
