Nance invited to NBA Draft Combine

This is great for him. He will shoot up the draft boards IMO. He's got athletic ability, basketball skill, genetics and high character.

Wishing nothing but the best of luck and hope you land with the Denver Nuggets, and maybe the Utah Jazz, but please don't go home to Cleveland and LB, lol, just kiddin, tear it up big fella!!!!!

No, he's coming to Minnesota.

I would LOVE if he went to the Jazz and then became the next Karl Malone and had a similar career... Just dreaming a little. I extatic to see another Cowboy have a chance at being drafted. It's been a long, long time.

Who was the last, if any, Cowboy to be invited to the combine? Josh Davis? I can't recall anyone in my lifetime being invited to the NBA Combine...

Theo Ratliff was the last Cowboy invited to combine.

That was tweeted by UW today, but I don't actually think it's accurate. Uche participated in the NBA Combine after his Junior year. He didn't hire an agent, so he was able to return for his senior year, but he was also able to participate in the combine without losing any eligibility. I don't know if the rules are still the same, but that actually happened.

God I hope he gets drafted.

Recruiting will become that much easier, and Nance will have some guaranteed $$$ in his pocket.
Imagine where he would be if he wasn't a late bloomer? If he didn't get injured/sick?
Imagine where he would be if he red-shirted as a freshman?

Nance has yet to play his best basketball. Simple as that. Take a chance on this kid and he will reward you.

I will buy my first NBA jersey if he gets drafted.

My top 5 for Nance:
Portland (selfish reason)
Utah (kinda selfish reason)
Denver (so he becomes a household name in Colorado making Denver area recruiting EASY)
Cleveland (so he can have a great chance to win, go home, and play with LeBron- also from Akron)
San Antonio (Great chance to win there, great coach, great franchise)

Also wouldn't mind seeing him in Chicago, New York, or either LA team just so he is in the national spot light and that could help Wyo.

I would add another reason to Cleveland: So he can pull his dad's #22 out of retirement for the Cavs and they can see another Nance become an All-Star!

I remember that too but I wonder if it wasn't the actual combine but workouts for scouts around the combine. Seems like invites for the combine are more exclusive that I doubt Uche would have been invited especially if he wasn't for sure going to the draft. But I do remember when he tested the waters and went to the combine.

I say he wear either 21 or 24, so that him, his dad, and LeBron can all have those 3 numbers in a row retired.

I know true Cavs fans will remember Larry Nance Senior, I have no idea about the LeBron-Cavs fans though.

They will probably see Nance Jr and Wyoming and think "Who is this kid?" and have zero clue.

I'm looking for a video to highlight the all-around game Nance has so I can show some NBA fans. Unnfortunately, there really aren't any such videos on Youtube. I'm basically limited to Wyo-Vision game highlights. So what was his best game this season? Preferably a good scoring game because most people probably don't realize the averages are skewed by our offensive system.

I personally loved his performance at home against csu. Showed off his mid range game and that huge block. Of course overtime against New Mexico was the biggest play of the season. He also had a pretty good second half against northern Iowa in my opinion

I know Denver his jr year he had like 39 points. He's had a few 30 point games, several mid to upper 20 point games, and then his 16-21 point games. Just don't show the games where he either didn't show up (SMU) or he didn't try to score ( south Dak last year I think).

I was hoping for one from this year. Ideally against a team that detractors can't say "they were playing a crap team"

Check out the MWC Tourney semi-finals against Boise (20-4-3) and the championship game against SDSU (14-6-3).

Against UNLV he put up 29 points (right after UNLV beat Arizona)

Or the Utah State game where he went for 21-10

Or the CSU game where he went for 19-10

Or the first Boise game where he went for 18-10.

The kid is an animal man. He gets his points quietly and loudly. Sometimes he just gets some put back lay ups, or a mid range jumper, other times he is throwing down huge dunks and monster alley-oops. But what isn't even what he does best. What he does best is know where to be on the court, and know the situation. He is always getting rebounds, altering or blocking shots, and making the right pass on the court.

The team that picks Larry Nance Jr. is getting a true basketball player. Not a scorer or a rebounder, but a basketball player. Someone who will help his team get a win. It's a cliche statement that every one uses, but for Nance it is true. The ego is not there, the will to win is, and the work ethic along with natural ability and skill is there as well. Late bloomer, combined with a Jr. season ending injury putting him behind schedule for his senior year, along with mono as the season is in the home stretch, all say one thing for me; his best basketball is in the future on an NBA team, not at the University of Wyoming.

Someone is going to benefit from taking a chance on this kid.

teams wont be taking a chance on nance. he is probably the best balanced and mature mid-big there is.

he has good measurements. his leaping ability is going to improve at the pro level. he is not done developing, and another year removed from knee surgery is going to help

his basketball I.Q. is massive. his dad, coach Edwards, and coach Shyatt... have made a true mentally dominant defensive force. everybody looks at guys that deliver high points per game in college... but that is bad thing to do when comparing to nance jr. he does everything at a high level. his body control on the low post is fascinating. the way he creates separation and can shoot with either hand, while keeping the other hand up and between the shot (which draws fouls) is hard to find.

he shoots the free throw well.

he will be drafted. and probably by a team that already has two really good post players. imagine him on the cavs. LeBron, love, and that foreigner. it allows for LeBron or nance to play small forward... which is ideal. more than likely LeBron, cause that fool can shoot. add into the fact that it sells tickets in Cleveland.

nance fits the mold with many teams. one intangible that will elevate nance; he is a team player that takes coaching well. he has 0 off the court issues. owners and gms are going to be hoping to steal him late. however, if the draft plays out funky, a team may feel forced to take him earlier.

Chicago is another team in the east that I feel likes nance. OKC, with billy... yaaaa. dallas with an over the hill dirk. Miami, possibly even knicks because they have to rebuild around fundementals. I think san Antonio... the leonard connection. I would like to see him as a nugget. but I don't think they will draft him.

personal opinion, the best destination for nance is his home town. bring him home cleveland
