My only explanation for saturdays loss is this: We completely overlooked North Dakota. We went extremely vanilla. We did not respect them at all. Then you add the fact that North Dakota was playing their Super Bowl and trying to get their first FBS win and you have a recipe for disaster. I hope this is what happened because any alternative is much much worse.

It's hard to say what their mindset was. There was also 3 first time starters on the offensive line And a whole gang of first time starters in the back 7 on defense. A lot of guys had deer in the headlight looks on their faces and it showed in the way they played. As for our veteran defensive line, I have no clue what was going on with them. Let's just hope that this first time jitters stuff is gone and they show up to play, otherwise the War is going to be practically empty throughout the season.
