My last minute take on tomorrow

I have had a blessing the past two weeks with my family coming to visit, been on many adventures across Washington state, and started cdl school last Monday.

Tomorrow is the big day. Like I said two months ago, Nebraska is heavy favorites, however... 31 points is way too high; bet some money to cover fellas.

To any Nebraska fans that read this, much respect for your team! I like the young talent you are gathering, and believe you guys have a winner in beck.

all that aside... Wyoming will open some eyes tomorrow. I have no idea how our defense is going to pan out... so yes I think we should lose. however, this offense IS productive. brett smith is one of the most fun quarterbacks to watch on any given day. His grit, poise, and ability to make throws is amazing. Husker fans; just watch and give credence to a hard-nose player.

can we keep up? I don't know and I doubt it. But I do know that we will pressure defense's into serious coverage breakdowns.

My final question to everybody watching the game tomorrow; how will Wyoming's running game look? I'm starting to lean towards = not too shabby and maybe even impressive. I believe if the Huskers stay in nickel... lets see what happens.

my prediction, 35-33 Nebraska... but it could be 35-33 Wyoming. this will be a pressure offense game, with early season jitters and mistakes. the spread on this game needs to be 13-17 points. but I doubt either team breaks the 40 point barrier.

smith and the receivers are that potent. but you can't just focus on them.

Good luck and come out injury free... have fun tail-gating, and keep it civil from both perspectives. I CANT WAIT!

Good luck on school.

I am so stoked for tomorrow's game, I can not wait.

I hope the Pokes get some turnovers, as I think that is the only way that the Pokes can win.

Brett needs to have a big day for Wyo to win.

It will be exciting to see how it all unfolds.

They need to play like they have nothing to lose. Not every week you're a 31-point underdog. CDC should just let it fly tomorrow.....pump fake and go long all day.

Good write up. Tomorrow is going to be a LONG day until kickoff.

Nebraska's front seven on defense is going to have a lot of fresh faces. We've heard a steady drumbeat from the media of how athletic these young bucks are and how big of an improvement they'll be over the last year's front seven. But the fact is they're starting because we have no one else, not necessarily because they're ready to go. The back end of our fall practices have been closed to the media, so very little information has gotten out.

There is a ton of uncertainty about this defense. The puffing by Husker fans is due to August homerism (did you know we're always undefeated heading into September?). If our defense stumbles out of the gate things could snowball (it's happened before with Bo's teams) and then you'll have more than a puncher's chance. I have no idea why the line is 30 +. Even if we cruise, Bo usually pumps the brakes in the second half.

I think Nebraska will get a comfortable win. Not convinced you guys have the horses to hang for 4 quarters. I think our trouble lies a little later in the year. If we lose a couple DTs to injury, Bo's going to have to go to the student union and start pulling husky kids out of the lunch line.

Good luck tomorrow and in conference play. Smith is a good one.

offensively, without injury, we have the horses! defensively... I really DON'T know. that's why im leaning towards losing.

we can keep fresh legs up while attacking... we have depth at receiver and running back. offensive guard we are solid. tackles are a 2:1 split on depth, and for our center we have no depth.

defensively... we have depth at the... uh.... hmmmm.... buck position maybe. lol... yup. that's about it, strong defensive backs, but really not much depth. onesies and twosies.

but we can and will score. if we get shut out, with this offensive talent, then somebody needs to get fired....

not saying Christensen, but if we don't score... then wtf are we doing?

You won't be shut out unless your bus gets lost on the way to the stadium.

I'm actually glad to hear you have a few good I-backs and some depth on the offensive line. Hopefully that will let us Husker fans know a little more about what we've got. Last year a Southern Miss team (which later proved to be a very bad team) pushed our front four around pretty good in the opener. I dismissed it as jitters but it turned out to be a precursor to the embarrassments against UCLA, Ohio State, and in That Game In December Whose Name Shan't Be Spoken.

You guys seem pretty hyped on the Smith-Herron connection, but I think that if you're going to put a scare in us or, god forbid, win, you'll have to get a ground game established. If Smith remembers how to scramble, it could be easier than Husker fans want to admit.

Maybe this is me being the "moral victories" thing, but if UW keeps it within 3 scores and we get out of there with minimal injuries and NO injury to Smitty, i am content.

Fuck that.

I will be happy if we win.
Not if we lose by 1, or 24.
