I looked up some numbers on the 4 vs 5 seed games.
The 4 seed has a 13-8 record vs the 5 seed in the tournament history since 2000 in quarterfinal games.
When Wyoming and UNLV have played each other in the tournament UNLV is 4-0 against Wyoming. BUT UNLV was the higher seed in all 4.
UNLV as a 1 seed beat a 5 seed Wyoming in the semifinals.
Twice UNLV as a 4 seed beat a 5th seeded Wyoming. There was one other time and UNLV was higher seed, I’ll have to look it up again.

That is because the only other time Wyoming was a 4 seed they won the MWC tournament in 2015.
