I think this is about right. I think Air Force or Nevada also might sneak into the NIT.

I think maybe the CBI, and people say that the MWC is going to be a dogfight, and it is, but at the same time there will be a hierarchy established and not everyone is going 8-8.
You will have the top tier teams, which to me is wyo, sdsu, unlv, and nm make the big dance, then right below them will be csu and boise who will get there fair share of mwc wins but won't be quite what the top 4 are. Then the next group below will probably make the cbi.

Fresno...they should just look forward to football season.

They're still filling out the rape forms at the police station after what happened to them in Hawaii vs. SMU. They're probably thinking about baseball, a sport they won the national championship in.

I'll never be comfortable pencilling anyone into the tournament, especially Wyoming. We need to beat some of these clowns and it would be nice to make it past first round in MWC tourney.

This +1.

Not so sure why everyone here is automatically predicting us into the NCAA as of right now with the Martinez injury lingering. I think some of you are under rating Boise St. also. I think because of how well the MWC has done OOC that it will probably get 5 teams with an outside shot at 6. I think there is going to be some surprises in conference. Are we going to be one of the surprises ? Maybe. I can't pick us or anyone else yet until i see every start playing some conference games.

I am also not convinced of how good New Mexico is yet. Same applies with SDSU. I think UNLV is very very talented but something seems to be missing with them as well and I am starting to think it's their coach. Be a very interesting conference season.

It begins with "S" and ends with "chroyer".

Lol...yes.

Honestly who do I think will make it and how many teams, This is 100% honesty and not thinking with emotion.

NCAA - UNLV, SDSU, UNM + MWC Tournament Winner
NIT - WYO, CSU - One of these teams will slide up to NCAA if one of the top 3 teams wins the Tournament.
CBI - BSU - One of these teams will slide up to the NIT if one of the above NIT teams gets a NCAA bid.

Now two things bring me to this conclusion, 1. The top teams either dominate the bottom team and there are 3 or there are 4 teams because 1 bottom team pulls off a few good wins and gets in giving us a 4th seed because the MWC Tournament winner will get a seed.

Now that is just going off of our predicted projeciton for win:loss in the MWC which who knows what we pull or or don't. I'm going off logical and most likely and I think it's safe to say we could be a .600 team with 2 big wins @ home that won't be enough to secure an NCAA seed or we will get the bubble game to get into the tourney as a last qualifier.

People just don't have any respect, understanding or information on Wyoming because we only beat CU and most people call that win a lucky win not a quality win. People still actually think we barely won that game because they didn't watch it they are simply looking at stats.

This is where I am right now also. We are at the part of the season (conference) where depth will play a major role. Our bench now has to show they are ready to step up at this level.

Arizona has two wins that they really needed to lose for Wyoming to look significantly better at the end of February. If we had our record versus CSU's or SDSU's schedule, we would be in right now.

The way I see it, we still must outperform projections and we really need a road win against one of the UNM/UNLV/SDSU trio that have established themselves. That, plus a great showing by CU in the Pac-12 would work wonders for us. Otherwise, I suspect that a .500 (or slightly above) conference record without playing in the Championship game will earn us a solid NIT bid.

We will lose a game or two that we would have won with Martinez, and my guess is that it will be a result of the lost steals and tipped balls on defense that become what Coach Shyatt calls 50/50 or loose ball plays.

MWC gets 4 in. The main trio + someone else who is on the bubble and then plays for the championship.

To me, unless something drastic changes, it would be hard to beleive that a conference in the top 2 or 3 in overall RPI wouldn't get 5 teams into the dance, especially when you look at the conferences around them and the number of teams they will put into the tournament. I would say that at the Big 10 (1 conf RPI) will get probably 6 or 7 teams in as well as the Big East (2 conf RPI). Even the ACC (4 conf RPI) will probably get a minimum of 5 or 6 teams in, so why wouldn't the MWC (3 conf RPI) get that many in, unless the selection committee isn't going to recongnize one of the top conferences as just that, and give them the shaft. The conference as a whole has done a great job of winning the big non-conference games that they needed to in order to put themselves in a position to earn the respect of the rest of the country, at least in my opinion.

I would agree if and only if the 5 names were all strong basketball teams with a history. The MWC has a history of one and done in the dance. CSU and WYO have no history in the dance in the last 10 years.
