MWC Mtn Division

Not for me it wouldn't. I'm looking for a 7 - 5 record - anything above that would be great, anything below that would be a disappointment.
Fair enough, but that's a tough standard. Wyo fans seem to be the only ones with high hopes for this 2015 team. Everyone else sees a team with a very young defense that might get blown to bits. 7-5 would be great, but I wouldn't scoff at this team if they went 6-6. 4-8 is more likely than any of the above.

The o/u in Vegas for wins in 2015 is exactly 5.
I think when it comes to all reviews, most don't do adequate research. And yes, Wyoming fans (some anyway) have high hopes. I think 7 wins is doable. There are some publications out there that have Wyoming going to a bowl this year......and some that have us finishing last in the MTN division. I'm looking for a more physical team this year and hope to see improvement weekly. The schedule is obviously easier. I think Bohl is the coach who can get Wyoming back to the level of success we had in the 80's and 90's....and maybe to the level we had in the 60's. Time will tell.

I'm not arguing against any of that. 7 wins is doable, I just think it's a slightly harsh standard. We'll all be disappointed if they don't hit 7 wins? So if Wyoming goes 6-6 and narrowly loses to a Pac-12 school in a bowl, we'll all think the season is a failure? That seems harsh considering how 2014 went.

I see a lot of youth on defense. Some players undersized. Could they surprise in a positive way? Absolutely, but they could just as well struggle mightily like they did to close the 2014 season.

Wyoming is always a mixed bag. Until Bohl gets his roster to where he wants it to be, every year will be a few turnovers here and there from being 4-8 or 6-6. I won't be totally surprised either way, but I will :| at people if we're coming down on Bohl for not winning right away with this group.

We certainly have sunk, expectation wise, to a level that rivals...mud.

Imagine how many Wyo fans will have a rock-hard erection when we get to 8 wins. Including the few twats that post here.

Even myself...thinking of some of my "fan highlights" since 1988, there are not many. Beating Tennessee @ Knoxville in their HC game may be tops, and we didn't even finish with a winning record that season - oh, and then we saw our coach get fired and fatty QB quit.

Outside of BSU, the MWC is so bad that even we have a chance to look decent. Hell, FCS teams aren't far from competing in this conference. Beat BSU? Yeah, that will take some time. Beat others? Umm, not so much.

I'm not saying we'll be great or win 9 games or whatever. All I'm saying is the bar isn't that high, so turnarounds can happen quickly.

I had to laugh at the comments of our new Spartan friend who just joined this board. He referenced Wyoming as, "Honestly, overall talent wise, the game never should have come down to a missed field goal at the end of regulation". I'm not saying he's right or wrong, just that opposing MW schools view Wyoming as the program with little talent right now, just like we might view the same of them.

We look at a team like say....New Mexico...and say, "Pfft...we'll beat them no problem"....

I guarantee you if you go the UNM board this fall come that game week, they'll say the same thing of us.

I had to laugh too. First off, SJSU fans being cocky is funny. That is regardless of where Wyoming is as a program at this point. And, because Colby didn't see a wide open receiver in the endzone that would have won the game for Wyoming. Yes, it shouldn't have gone to OT.

Aside from Boise, there isn't one team that is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference. Boise fans have earned the right, but the rest haven't.

Just :twocents:

 So true. It is funny that most fanbases realize how bad the MWC is but fail to realize that their team contributes (sans BSU). Jimmy is correct. There is BSU and everyone else. The everyone else is a step above FCS and closer to Idaho than BSU.

You're absolutely right, it changes repeatedly. Look at Fresno State for example. Man, their fans were arrogant POS's from 2012 through the off-season of 2014. Amazing how cocky a fan base can become with a brief 9-win/11-win two season window.

"Boise State? Pfft...thing of the past. It's now Fresno's time to dominate everything in its path."

"How many access bowls will we make in the next few years? At least 1-2, right?"

By fall of 2014, Wyoming busted into their house and stole everything. They should rename the place Brian Hill Stadium. Now their fans have been  all off-season.

That is just one example of how outside of BSU, it's a see-saw game. Up and down, down and up. SDSU, USU, shouldn't get too cocky...the reversal of fortune is coming.

ESPECIALLY for Colorado State, whose fans think that one 10-3 season in which they beat nobody worth noting somehow makes them the golden prize for realignment in the West. Much like Fresno last off-season, their humble pie awaits this fall, and it will taste its most bitter come the Border War.

And to think Idaho trounced BSU for something like 10 years straight. I intend to live long enough to see that cycle come full circle, and to see Wyo get back to the Sugar Bowl, or something similar.

Happy weekend, and keep your beer cold.

I don't see this team being worse than last year and we throttled the west winner and beat AF.

Wasn't being cocky, just honest. We were all expecting a better team the last two years with the talent we had built up and was left behind from our 11 win season. We had beat Colorado st the 3 previous years and Wyoming the previous year. You guys lost Brett Smith who never should have left early IMO, but you also lost your HC. If Smith stays, you're battling for the Mountain Division title. We lost David Fales but figured Joe Gray could hold his own. He was an expected future starter until Fales showed up anyways and the young guys developed nicely the season before. Not much we can do on our end if the coach doesn't know how to use the talent he has.

I'll be right there with you guys on Saturday's cheering for Wyoming except for trips to Colorado Springs, Vegas and possibly to San Jose against Fresno to see the Spartans. I'll be cheering just as loud as I do in Spartan Stadium. Our family/group of 15-20 usually get all of the cheers and chants started there and I plan on doing the same thing at War Memorial.
