MWC Media Day

Wyoming picked 4th by the media. Nothing from the coaches just yet. 1st place votes went 27 for Boise State, 2 for Fresno State, and 1 for San Diego State.

Nick Carlson, Mike Purcell, and Luke Ruff all made 1st-team All-MWC....Preseason of course. Sorry, but the Derek Carr hype continues to escalate and he beat out Smith for all available preseason honors.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Some argue Carr's stats were better. So? Last season without Smith Wyoming wouldn't have gone to a bowl game. Carr couldn't even get last years Fresno squad in a weakened WAC to play in a bowl game. Winning > Stats.

Wyoming was picked 5th in 2010 and finished 9th. So yeah, I would take it with a grain of salt.

I've read two diff things.. w/ Wyoming having a vote and not having a vote. REgardless, still gotta knock Boise off the pedestal.

I believe Carr of Fresno St. is a very good QB, but my money would be on and my vote would go to B.Smitty because of his leadership ability, his work ethic, his toughness, and his intelligence and ability to create the opportunity to make something out of nothing and achieve the end result. That's what puts him at a higher level in my opinion.
