We would not immediately become what Gonzaga is today.

Part of how you build a program like Gonzaga has is to win big games against good programs. Even then, the respect isn't instantaneous. Wyoming can't get anyone to come to Laramie. Wyoming went 5-7 on the road last year. If we can't win games on the road and can't get anyone good to come to Laramie, we aren't going to be the next Gonzaga.

As for the "seem to be doing fine," Gonzaga also didn't move down a level so that they could compete. People in Wyoming are already sick of the BOT's attitude of "do more with less." I think a move down would send them flying and crashing off Gannett Peak.

Right about where I thought they would be picked. Good to see Adams put on the first team. I think the team can sneak into the top six this year. I'm excited for the season to get rolling!

And if we dropped to the big sky conference you could get excited about Wyoming playing in a 1 bid league where it's win the conference tourney or go home in a 5,000 seat arena for the right to be a 15 seed! Exciting stuff! I'm sick of that dumb MW tournament in Las Vegas.

Except that's the reality of what you preach on a daily basis. You can't be over here on the basketball board smiling and glowing about Wyoming basketball in the MW conference as it is currently and on the football board preach about Wyoming dropping to FCS. Football dropping to FCS equals exactly the above-mentioned scenario for basketball that I mentioned; Wyoming playing in a one bid league where it's win your tourney or go home in a 5,000 seat arena for the right to be a 15 seed.

Wyoming has a football program only in the literal sense.

A convenient response when you've been called out on your position and don't know what else to say but say "Wyoming has a football program in name only" which completely ignores the reality of the situation.

So I take it you are OK with putting basketball in the big sky conference since you wish to see football drop?
