Boise up 52-0 on ISU. Starting QB Finley broke his ankle, 4-star freshman QB Rypien came off the bench and looked fantastic.

New Mexico down 17-7 in the 3rd vs. Arizona State. They're playing them much better than expected.

Though Rypien is only 5'11. Just a note.

Looked fantastic.. against ISU.

Also, I think Arizona State might by crappy this year. They haven't looked good in any game this season.

Rypien is 6'2". The 5'11" dude was the other backup.
Ah, my bad. Kind of tuned out of the game at halftime with Boise barely up 21-0 against ISU and feeling rather indifferent to the game as a whole.

Yeah, you tuned out right as Rypien flipped his shit all over ISU. He had arm talent that blew away what the other BSU QBs had.

Thank goodness BSU chooses the 4 star kids. If they took the 1 and 2 start kids and developed them for 5 years, the rest of the conference would stand even less of a chance.

 Your cynicism is on point this week.

Man, if we had even half a chance at recruiting 4 star athletes...

Since we can't, we have to recruit the best we can get and coach them up and develop them.

Our backup QB wag doing great till his injury. And I'm sure Nick Smith will be showing a lot better signs when he gets more reps in practice.

My guess is Nick Smith had a case of first game jitters (nerves) last week. I think he is much better than what we saw. I'm not worried at all about Josh Allen. He will hold his own against any other QB in the country.
