Mountain West Title Game Preview

The pick’em group I am in has BSU by 13.5. I am taking Hawaii and hopefully they keep it close.

Boisee beat UH pretty good, 31-10. Not surprised, really. Boise is just too good. I think the overall strength of the MWC is down this year. Fresno is typically strong. They are not right now. SDSU is typically ranked all season. They aren't this year.

I disagree. I think the MWC was strong. MWC performed really, really well in the OOC games.

What an odd season.

-Fresno State had one of the ugliest turnarounds I've ever seen.
-San Diego State's offense got *worse*. Still went 9-3.
-Boise won games with three different starting QBs (two of which stink).
-Hawaii benefitted from the West Division's wackiness and picked up a trophy (I think, anyway. Are there division champs trophies?)
-San Jose State went 5-7 and it was considered a success story.
-Wyoming appears to have achieved stability, a rare MW program with a 6-6 floor.
-Colorado State fired Bobo and is now behaving as if their open vacancy is the Boise, UCF, etc. job.
-Utah State did in fact miss a beat under Andersen. At times, several beats.
-Air Force went 10-2 and nobody gave a shit.

Look forward to another off-season of speculation, but 2019 was another reminder that aside from a few steady programs (Boise, SDSU, argument for Wyoming), this conference is a seesaw.

Saw Butch Jones is a strong candidate for the sheep.

The MWC went 4-3 in bowl games.

Other than Wyo's win over a mediocre Mizzou team, what are you qualifying? UNLV beat Vandy, but Vandy is AWFUL. Boise couldn't even beat BYU...
