Mountain West reaches deal with Root Sports

Root will be the official broadcast partner of the Mountain West. Appears that those of us in the PNW will not get to see the games, even though they are produced by Root Rocky Mtn. All in HD, of course.

In an article in the ABQ Journal, New Mexico president Krebs said that "Fans who don’t have access to Root...will be able to watch Root’s Mountain West telecasts online at no charge on the conference’s digital network." This is a big deal, and is what the conference's digital network should have been straight out of the gate. We were the first to the plate with a conference network (which we messed up badly), but now we're on the right side of the cord-cutting revolution. This could potentially springboard us into a bunch of homes that don't have access to ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, etc...
