Most ignorant comments you heard/read about Wyo-Nebraska?

I heard some dumb and outright funny things about the game over the past week or so, but the funniest one I read was someone saying that they didn't even know Wyoming had a football team.
Literally did not know that we had a football team.

What was the best/worst comment you heard or read?
I want to see these, considering people didn't even know we had a team, so there has to be some good ones.

Rittenberg/Bennett on the Big10 ESPN blog calling Wyoming a "mediocre WAC team".

I think that takes the cake. Not just from a pure ignorance standpoint (WYO hasn't been in the WAC since 98, WAC no longer sponsors FB, etc.), but from the amazing fact that these people are paid an annual salary to cover College Football and the Big 10 in particular and they don't even know the FBS conferences or the conference of a Big 10 opponent. IOW, their knowledge base is dramatically inferior to that of the fans they are peddling their stories to.

In conclusion: Fuck ESPN.

+1 My thoughts exactly. I read that also and was thinking the exact same thing. How are you paid to write for a nationally known company and you don't even know what conference the teams are in??? Pretty ridiculous.

People on computers can say what they want cuz their identity is hidden, don't judge Nebraska fans by what their "fans" say on forums because in person they were the nicest fan base I have ever been around.

 It is just football. I know alot of people bag on Wyoming. Probably many more bag on Alabama too.

Instead of Promoting the Ignorant Comments, you should try to promote the Positive Comments. We gave Nebraska a hell of a game and I sure as hell enjoyed it as long as a few others I know. We need to promote Wyoming and the MWC and not worry about the negative/ignorant things/comments people make.

Here's a start: The Wyoming Cowboys will be fun to watch this year. They appear to have a badass offense and a decent defense. They are from Laramie Wyoming. Like every other team in the conference, they may compete for the conference title, but our offense looks balanced, we can throw, we can run, and we can score (the minute some team takes that away we are in trouble).

We are gonna do good this year - we should all celebrate in that. We should ground ourselves too! Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

We should also do our best to 'market' Laramie. It is a great town, and for any outdoors person, it is. Many of the great athletes these days don't want to fish, they want to go atv'in, snowmobiling, and then see some fishing, and that great stuff.

Open up your mind - make it happen. Go Pokes!

I don't get too worked up about anonymous Internet message board posts, however when it comes from professional journalists and members of the Big 5 marketing machine (ESPN), then I have a problem with it. This is by design as it benefits them to promote certain programs/Schools, etc.
