I didnt get to see the game, but I was wondering what happened on the missed extra point and missed field goal? Was there a bad snap or bad hold or block? Or did Jake just flat miss them? We can't afford to throw away points like that.
 
funny thing is he can make the kicks...but its more of an adenture from inside 30 yds then it is from 45+. Seriously its bad enough that next time we have to attempt a 28 yrd field goal we should purposely take 3 procedure penalties to get into better range for him.
 
I sure hope he is working on this all week. Its ridiculous that the offense gets down to the opposing team's 20 yard line, its 4th and a yard, and we have to go for it because we have no confidence in the kicker. That 3 points could have been critical at that time becasue it would have put us up by 2 scores. What are Scott's stats or the year anyway? Do we have anyone else comig up that can take over this job next year?
 
I agree. The worst part was that we had no confidence to make a 37 yd field goal that would have put us up 2 scores and essentially iced the game. However, Id still rather have Scott than Aric Goodman from CU.
 
Could be worse. Remember the Pokes' hotshot of a couple years ago that missed the extra point at the OT game in Virginia? (Goldman his name?). And he transfered to Colorado and is now their kicker. Guess what? The Colorado field goal kicking percentage is the worst in the country.

Agreed Scott is still better than Goodman, he hasn't actually cost us games/bowl bids like Goodman did. Scott seems a little streaky and we need him hot for the last 2 games. We don't score enough to leave 7 pts on the field like that (Missed FG, extra pt, skipped FG). If we were up 20-7 at the end of the game my hair would have a little less gray in it.

We need to focus on beating UNLV, up to now they have played common opponenet closer than we have, but in our favor they do have one of the worst run defenses in Div 1.
