Makes no sense

Why at this point, according to Glenn's quote, are we still being conservative. It hasn't worked. I don't care if we throw 10 ints a game by throwing it deep, at least I could see us trying things. The most "risky" play I saw was a reverse that really isn't that tricky these days. I know I am not a "football coach" by title, but I do enjoy studying the game and I can think of several formations that would utilize our talent much better than we are now. I mentioned the wildcat formation last week, and look how many teams ran something like that last week in either D1 or the NFL. Even if its only 2 or 3 plays it messes with a defense. We might not have great WR's but you can put them in formations that can improve their chances of getting open. Simple things like putting a TE out on the endge and bringing Bowling or Stewart in to the end of the line. All of a sudden you either have the defense scrambling to switch coverages or you have a mismatch with a WR being covered by an LB. My bigger question is, why did we bring Cole in and then not change the offense. I have it from a reliable source that really all we changed was some of the terminology, so in essense we made our offense relearn the same offense we already had. WTF??? Why we didn't switch to the Spread is beyond me, and it seems like Cole isn't anywhere insight to answer these questions. Sorry if I am venting all over the board today, but when is enough enough? I think this team has gone way past just being a bad football team, and is clearly an embarrassment to the University, the State, and even the conference.  :x

Good post Snowman!

Another thought (as yes UW Football is an embarrassment to the University, State, and MWC)...think about the economic impact on Laramie. A town that size surely has taken a hit this year. A vicious circle kind of, but damn!

I agree with you totally, except for one thing. If we created that mismatch with one of their LBs on one of our WR, it probably wouldnt help us, because our speed at the WR position is so bad that most LBs could probably cover our receivers easily.

i don't know about Laramie taking an an economical impact this past weekend. THere were alot of people who came to town to socialize and not go to the game. My friends and I got together to tailgate (about 20 of us) and none of us went into the game, and we were most defiantly not he only ones.

You are right, there were a lot of people. But you can't tell me if UW was 4 & 2 or 5 & 1that there would not have been a HELL of a lot more (in town) logically! And probably for more time/day(s) than just Saturday.
