Just got home from the game.
Might be the worst officiating- ever. That’s saying a lot. Walter’s was actually tackled running down the court - no call, and it got worse from there. But, the Pokes didn’t look good in the first half. A lot to overcome.

I get that there are certain situations you call for that. But it doesn’t seem to me to be an effective offensive philosophy unless you have a Kobe Bryant type.
I am something of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to MW referees. It is in the conference's best interest if it gets as many teams playing March Madness. A NM win helps do that.LanderPoke said:Getting forked over by the refs too. Truly

I'd say the refs were worth 6-7 points to the Lobos. So not nearly enough to swing the game. But still quite the screwing307bball said:doreno5 said:I am something of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to MW referees. It's hard not to feel that way sometimes....by and large, I think in college sports you have enough outcomes that don't go the way that conferences want them to go that I don't think that there is a grand conspiracy run by conferences to influence outcomes via referees. That being said....with the rise in betting, referees are subject to incredible incentives to fudge things around. Basketball is incredibly sensitive to this.

Does the calls/no calls account for more points, if a player has to change his play (maybe becomes less aggressive because of phantom calls) because he’s worried about getting a foul. Maybe the other team scores more because of it.Just a question. I certainly believe that happens.
