Love this quote from Andy Katz

Wyoming's win over Colorado should get the Mountain West's attention. Larry Shyatt and Scott Duncan have woken up Laramie sooner than anyone expected.....

Dick Vitale is also giving a bit of love too...maybe we are onto something!!! Wouldn't that be sweet later down the road if Dickie came to the AA...hey i can dream too!!! LOL

this newest one as well:

The guys on espn are giving us respect, and then Goodman from CBS called us frauds
Usually it's the other way around. :?

Even though espn is kind of a joke, at least the mindless people that believe anything and everything espn says will believe we are legit.

And that cbs writer has to eat crow now.

Wyoming getting lumped in with UCONN and Georgetown by Katz. Pretty good company! Just keep winning and the Pokes will continue to get noticed.

The schedule is doing what it is supposed to do at this stage and the players are coming around the way they are supposed to with the schedule. Last year it was Denver, not CU, that gave us trouble down in Colorado. I sure wish that we still had another big, thick, smart body underneath.

Has anyone else noticed that Coach Shyatt seems to like to run his PG for 40 minutes?

who the hell is that Goodman guy anyway, never heard of him, so be it

Goodman's a quality college basketball writer. One of the best actually. Been covering the sport nationally for years, mostly for Fox Sports before moving over to CBS. I don't agree with him here, but he's not the type to have an agenda.

The main problem has been lack of options off the bench. With Grabau out, we really don't have another PG (Bentz is a walk-on and while Adams can handle the ball in a pinch, he is more of a combo/2). Last year had a similar problem when Gilmore missed time and frankly Grabau wasn't ready.

Need to develop more depth overall in the program.

Agenda or not he was still flat out wrong.

Of course, but sports analysts/prognosticators will always get some predictions/analyses wrong. There were many college football analysts that thought the Pokes would be a bowl team this year in FB. We aren't going after them for being wrong are we?

It's nice to see Wyoming getting some positive press! The win over Colorado followed by the come from behind victory over Southern Illinois made me a believer! Let's hope they continue on this roll. I need to get down there to see a game in person!

The latest from Goodman: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/21292745/good-n-plenty-sec-has-been-underwhelming-in-early-going" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Credit is due to both Wyoming and Charlotte, two teams I recently labeled as "frauds" despite their undefeated start. The Cowboys had a crazy come-from-behind win against Illinois and Alan Major's 49ers came away with a win at Davidson.

Not exactly eating crow, but at least he gives the pokes some credit. Someone needs to tell him it was Illinois State though, not Illinois.

I'm sorry but Goodman is clueless and has no business writing news for schools he doesn't cover. Sure there are a lot of analysts that do that as well and I can understand no one can cover all the schools but if you are going to make a specific article commenting on a school at least get it right.

I have a feeling that Katz is actually writing a feature on the Pokes. In his live chat this afternoon, he mentioned that he's been talking to the Wyoming staff and they're baffled as to how this team is playing so well. Maybe an ESPN feature is on its way.

Don't forget to stop by Cheyenne and pick up your buddy! Speaking of, where is that clown? I guess he'll show up if the pokes lose a couple or maybe he just doesn't like hoops.

I honestly had no real problem with the fraud because we had one win and a weak schedule, but i thought he should've had "jury is still out" because our game on tuesday was going to be the one where we could prove ourselves and we did... and when you miss on a comment like that you need to own up and eat some crow.
