0% chance to win this game. BYU isn’t winning the big 12 but they are winning this game by 35+byu is ok but not good. If PBJ wants to turn the tides, then win this game. Get blown out and the wheels are off. Only good thing is csu also sucks; hopefully worse than us.
I think people were bored. The game was boring as hell. There were exciting moments, but there was nothing to cheer about. Penalties. No discipline. Ugly play. It was meh. I’ve been in the stadium with 15,000 people and it was multiple times louder and more electric because the game was fun and the players were excited and playing with purpose. This team is lost and this staff has no idea how to motivate them. Sources on the team tell me they think they can practice and drill their way into winning. I’m not so sure. They act like they are pitchers who are aiming instead of just throwing. I stood along the north fence in the second half and the players look miserable. You could cut the tension they were exuding with a knife. They are trying to play a perfect game and it causes them to unravel. Draw up a simple game plan and let them react and play.Hard to know exactly what's happening in the locker room. Hopefully fans show up and the players show up. Maybe the coaches will show up. Not expecting a win but a football effort would be great. I will be there and hoping for the best. Guessing it will be a two score game. It was odd watching the Idaho game. There just did not seem to be any excitement anywhere in the War. Even the fans seemed out of it.
Defense scores is the only way I see 10….If the defense plays like it did against Arizona State, then we give up 45. We only give up 25-30 if they play semi inspired like they did against Idaho in the 2nd half.
But I don’t know how we score 10 points.
TV announcers talked about it in similar way. They said watching the players warm up is like watching military drills. There is no real talking, smiling, laughing, etc. Basically said it may have opposite effect on getting players ready to start a game if there is no fun at all in itI think people were bored. I'm told that they are practicing and watching film non-stop. It's been suggested that they are even pulling kids out of class to watch film - until late in the evening. I can't and don't really want to fully confirm what I have been told, but if it is even 25% true, these kids will burn out by North Texas and we will see a boatload of transfers. This has all the hallmarks of a mix between Vic and Little Napoleon (Linder) - which will only yield craptastic results. Again, we need to simplify the game, slow it down for whomever takes the reins behind center (maybe going into a huddle and giving them a chance to look at each other and relax if only for 6 seconds), and go back to a defense that reacts and doesn't play scared. Once we dumped the 15-20 yard cushions we were giving ASU and Idaho and allowed our secondary to react and play press-ish coverage a bit more, the defense looked like it was turning around. At the end of it all, what do we have to lose? What we are doing ain't working worth a tinker's damn. Let the kids smile, have a little fun and fly around.TV announcers talked about it in similar way. They said watching the players warm up is like watching military drills. Woof, I hope not or this could go sideways quickly and for a long dark period of time. Agreed, loosen them up...don't tighten things on them!I'm told that they are practicing and watching film non-stop. Sawvel needs to let the kids know that the season is not lost. They can go out and turn this around and win this damn game. If they pull this out, it will be much easier to forget the rocky startHard to know exactly what's happening in the locker room. Hopefully fans show up and the players show up. Not sure our new "O" C will allow that. He calls a shitfucker of a game. 4th and 1, hell, let's go shotgun. What a stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid call.Nothing to lose at this point. We will not be MWC contenders. They can go out and play without the mentality of "don't screw up." 0-2 Record and playing against an old bitter rival. Let 'er rip.
Sawvel will have Wyoming ready for this game. He's coaching as if his career depends on it.0% chance to win this game. BYU isn’t winning the big 12 but they are winning this game by 35+
