Chris McNeill’s record-ensuring reception seemed like a guarantee.

With 150 catches in his career, the senior needed just one more to tie former Cowboy Gordy Wood for 10th place in the career-catches category of UW’s record books.

Surely that grab, and likely more, would come Saturday against San Diego State.

But something happened in the fourth quarter of Wyoming’s game against UNLV. McNeill landed wrong after catching a pass from his quarterback, Brett Smith.....

Ouch - not only does it suck for him, but it also lowers our chances of an upset. The kid's so clutch when it comes to catching the less-than-perfect throws.

Damn, he was 1 catch away from being in the top10 @UW?! bummer, big bummer.

And, I think we win this game. Sure the odds are gonna favor SDSU, but with Brett Smith playing are the san diego state aztecs BETTER than us in WYOMING???

Saw that in the Boomerang. Sucks, but wish McNeil the best in the years to come. The last couple years he has become a really clutch reciever.

McNeil has had a great career at Wyoming and always competes. He has had a rough go with injuries and it sucks, but I like his attitude about it!
