UNLV against Cal and UNM against Harvard. Meanwhile, the sheep manhandle Mizzou and go on to the next round.


Let that last one sink in a bit and boy does it sting.

The MWC looks like a complete joke once again in the tournament. 3 teams one and done and neither CSU or SDSU have much of a chance to go deep. We needed New Mexico to make some noise and they fall short. Unlv chokes year after year in the first round and continue to embarrass the MWC each year in the tournament. Want to know why our conference gets no respect? It's performances like these. Always next year...

Even worse...it's up to the Asstecs to help save the face of the MWC.

I am soooo f'in pissed at the Loblows, the Rubbles, and the Donks for shitting the bed.....
 
BSU and UNLV losing sucked, but UNM losing to a non-scholarship Ivy League school will never ever be matched.
 
Wow, the mwc is way overrated.
We shit the bed every year in the tourney. This year is no different.
After all the crap this season, wyo might be the last mwc team playing....in the cbi.
funny thing, we all said the pac12 sucks at hoops yet they are 3-0 in the tourney.

If anyone is drunk on koolaid we all know it is me.
Tonight was shit for us. The cowgirls losing just adds on.
Unlv is the same year after year, but shouldn't be as good next season without bennett or moser. Csu will drop off big. Sdsu...will be good but not great. Bsu will be good. Nm will be good again.
If wyo can win this cbi with or without leonard...they should compete. We need a harder ooc schedule though. Let's hope vernon is the real deal
 
I heard from Lobo fans that they accused of its head coach Alford negotiating his contract extention before the first game vs Harvard.

I would be pissed too if I am a Lobo fan.

I think it's totally hilarious, the tourney shouldn't really judge this conference, we are still tough, it's just at the heat of the moment the nooses get tight. 7 MWC teams make post season play and 4 moving on, we'll see how the Asstecs handle Oklahoma? but overall that's why it's so much fun to watch this event year in and year out, thanks to the 1 and done format at the big schools, for parity sake
 
The top teams in the MWC peed down their legs again. I am embarrassed beyond words and the rest of the country is laughing at us.
 
oh yeah, btw there will be even more upsets today and not just over MWC teams, again that's what makes it fun to watch. GO POKES beat the Broncos monday
 
Can we petition the NCAA to keep UNLV out of the tournament? The are just a waste of space with their annual first round exit. Everything I was going to say has already been said. Guess the MWC was wildly overrated. How the hell does New Mexico lost to Harvard? Yeesh. And I will NEVER root for a CSU win. I hope Louisville pastes them by 80!
 
I was at the unlv game. They did not shoot very well. I was really pulling for them as well. Cal fans are pretty damn annoying.
 
I'm pulling for both CSU and SDSU,not so much for conference respect,but the fact it's 2 million bucks for the conference per games played. Our program needs money.
 
Maybe the New Mexico players were reading the papers about how great they were.
At least I think they know how to read.
 
Absolutely pitiful and embarrassing display put on by the two big teams so far. Atleast CSU showed up with what appeared to be a desire to win. UNLV and UNM have absolutely no excuses. Unacceptable performances. BSU gets a pass as they probably shouldnt have been there to begin with. They other two are inexcusable. GO POKES
 
I'm not that surprised at New Mexico losing. I thought they would win but it would be a close game. If you remember when Wyoming slowed it down against New Mexico it caused New Mexico to struggle a little bit and although they beat Wyoming they did it ugly because of Wyoming's slow pace. Harvard plays that slow pace as well but with better players top to bottom on their roster so the upset doesn't seem that surprising when you think about it based on how New Mexico did against slow paced teams.

With that said New Mexico should have still pulled out the win but they were one of the unlucky high seeds to get upset this year.

The UNLV loss doesn't surprise me either since the NCAA committee didn't do UNLV any favors by placing them right in Cal's backyard and Cal had revenge on their minds from earlier in the year. Also Montgomery is a lot better coach than Dave Rice.

Hopefully San Diego St. and CSU can keep it going but I have a feeling Wyoming might be the last MWC team playing this year which is funny.
