Lobo Pokes predictions

I believe we continue to build off of last week's wonderful performance and Pokes get er done:

UW 31 UNM 21

We shut down Air Force pretty effectively, no reason to think that we cant' do the same to the Lobos. New Mexico also doesn't have a QB that's a threat throwing the ball.

Pokes 35
Lobos 21

Yeah I'm pretty much on the same page as the rest...NM will only be able to run on us. At least that is what I hope, so I say the pokes win this one.. Here's to Brett having a huge game threw the air.... 375 yard.... we get 210 yrds rushing.

Wyo 47
NM 24

To be fair, I'm sure their runningbacks could throw to the wide open receivers at will if their QB couldn't. Our secondary has yet to learn how to even spell "Coverage."

I'm everywhere between a Wyoming blowout and a New Mexico blowout. I think we are going into New Mexico on a bad week and that we will see a fired up UNM team.

Wyoming 34 New Mexico 30 in OT (New Mexico gets ball first and we make an incredible stop when they have the ball first and goal on the 5 and they settle for a FG, Chris McNeil takes the reverse from Brett Smith and throws back to a wide open Brett Smith for a TD and a win).

if that is how you think OT will go then you have the wrong score

Haha, good catch! 33-30

I'm guessing that NM has seen the secondary weakness of the Pokes and will have been working on some sort of passing game (AF had some surprises). If they get it together - trouble for Pokes. Pokes don't have necessary offensive speed to do too much damage to NM on the ground, but, if Brett is on his game, that is all that is needed. If so, Pokes by one. That's just my observation.

NM knows our strengths and weaknesses. Other teams have done the same thing...that is,completely own the time of possession to keep our O off the field. Grind our defense down.

NM will run the ball a ton to limit the amount of possessions by UW's O.

Pokes win 31-24

They run the triple option from the pistol, so yeah, they're going to run a lot. But their backup QB (starter got injured) is not a throwing threat, meaning expect it to be like the Cal Poly QB, good at running, but questionable choices when throwing.

Tough to call. Albuquerque has historically been a place where Wyoming plays badly. Regardless of how strong or weak the team is.

Pistol shouldn't present too much a problem as we controlled Nevada the whole game, we'll see how Davie has them coming out and I agree we don't play well at ABQ, except against Fresno St at that awesome bowl game...we'll see and GO POKES

This game is less about what style of football UNM is playing and more about our team. We have a tradition of letting UNM play and even beat us when they have no business doing so. This Wyoming team could hang 50 on these clowns but are just as likely to lose. This team needs to come out and clown stomp these fools and they need to start the game with this attitude. Pedal to the metal and foot on throat! Get it done! These kids can make the rest of this season whatever they want it to be. They can finish strong and build momentum for next season or they can pack it in and work on their "swag".

Thought I would share
this prediction of mine
I admit its as weak
as our offensive line

the logic behind it
as even and sure
as the defensive schemes
we have had to endure

nonetheless I will try
and go out on a limb
for the Pokes and B Smith
(I have great hopes for him)

I admit I am blinded
by the Gold and the Brown
but this week nasty Lobos
get run out of town!

WYO 28
UNM 17

Since we haven't held a team to less than 24 all year, saying 38-35 w/a game winning FG to end it. Many of thrown hats, slammed beers, and cursing is going to be involved, I have a feeling.
