Lets say the Pokes finish 3-9

Which is certainly possible...is there anyone who believes such a downer of a season, after a season of such success a year ago, in addition to some touting the Pokes as a possible MCW champion this year...is there any way that Burman makes a move on DC at the end of the season if such a record comes to fruition -- or does DC get a mulligan and an opportunity to come back next year to make amends?

Thoughts please...

He will get to come back next year for a mulligan. Burman won't fire him since he just gave him a big raise and he has been to 2 bowl games even though those years were sub par also. I believe he will get 2013 and if he finishes under .500 next year then he "might" get let go. Never know with Wyoming as we seem to let coaches hang around for an extra couple of years.

I think I would agree with you -- he'd have to have this team completely tank and go 1-11 with such low morale that a change would be absolutely necessary...

Based on tweets from players I think morale is already at rock bottom. If you are a defensive player it can't get much worse. Stink it up all season then finally show improvement yet you still loose.

But realistically WC2014, would the administration really make a move based on a 3-9 season?

I'm sure Burman could make excuses for a 3-9 season. HOWEVER......this team is showing signs of lacking discipline. This only escalates with losing if the head coach doesn't smash before it gets worse in practice. Look for that in the coming weeks.....losing is one thing, losing AND the coach appears to have lost his team? Now that can get you canned......

Lets look at the track record. First year, ok, got bowl win. Second year, horrible. Third year, ok again went to a bowl. fourth year, looking again horrible maybe worse that 2010. WE CANNOT KEEP GOING UP AND DOWN!! what we gain from the one good year we lose the next. If hes gonna stay at Wyoming he needs to have good year after good year, or even ok after ok year. IMO we will be lucky to hit 3 wins now cuz i bet the team morale is in the shitter after that game. Damn i almost know how BSU felt when nevada beat them in Reno in 2010

is the morale low from the player's opinions towards the coaches or because of the losing?

And losing...and losing.

I think this team is really lacking a bunch of leadership. This isn't something we saw alot of in the Glenn years.

On offense, you have Brett Smith - but does anyone else really stand out out as a leader? Brett is young anyways. The receivers all kind of do their own thing (and are doing a good job of it). Maybe Nick Carlson sticks out a bit but I can't really think of anyone else.

Defensively, we don't have anyone that really stands out either. Maybe Purcell, thats about all I can really think of. We don't have the leadership like we did with Fast Freddy, Unrein, Fletcher, the Gipsons, etc. The defense is clean out.

We used to have Thunder and Lighting. We had all kinds of interesting positions and people in leadership throughout the teams. Names that stuck out. Fletcher gets a facemask called on him and CSU scores as a result. The next play he goes and blocks the PAT. Thats Legendary!

I don't think this team has much of that, and they have no way to really control the emotion in the game as a result.

Post some tweets for those of us not on "the twatter".

From what I'm reading on twitter is they are ready to get this behind them and play Saturday. Except for Sutton. He is worried about girls.

Also, the rest of them are saying how thrilled they are to be freezing right now in laramie.

I think that it's unlikely due to the raise in salary a year ago. Times are tough with budget cuts across the board at the University and Wyoming won't pony up this kind of money to another coach in the near future. This means if they did hire another coach he would likely be a big gamble or someone already on staff. Ride it out, I know we are ready to win and win now but we aren't really that far off.

I keep saying it, hoping it will get through to people but every loss we have had this year we have been competitive in and fell short by a score or less in all but one. I know it's all about wins and losses, but I think we're still headed in a positive direction overall.
