Lakers & Wyoming

Ok, did anyone see the Lakers games last night? They are on a three game win streak and have the NBA's 4th best defensive efficiency rating. Kobe is out (not implying Adams needs to sit) and Nance is in the starting line up and killing it - watch Coach Scott talking highly of Nance and his defense and fundamentals in the post game (Something Shyatt preaches daily and I would have every player watch that post game).

The young guys showed up, the veterans showed up, and the Lakers are showing team chemistry and swagger not seen all year. So there is hope that the Cowboys young guys show up on Wednesday (TWIII, Lieberman, Gorski, James, Naughton) and that the veterans.......wait, we don't have any veteran big guys - anyway, the "Bigs" need to show up and show some passion on the floor like Roy Hibbert. 2016 can be a great year, minus that game on Saturday - Lets Go Cowboys!

Jesus dude. You've been on here for a week bitching about this year's team. You wanted Dalton to gain 35 lbs ASAP. How is one supposed to see that Barnes shouldn't be playing as much without actually seeing him play? And you called, HA HA, Larry Shyatt stubborn. Please. Your refrain has been that everyone needs to STEP IT UP!!!111!!!1!!!! If you were talking about the football team and AD, I'd be in agreement but your expectations for this year's basketball team are hilarious. Do you want Adams to "get it together" too?? Shouldn't he be first in the country instead of third in scoring?

WTF do you expect out of this year? It's clear that everyone is rebuilding and Shyatt doling out playing time for as many players as possible shows this. Unlike football, this coach has earned every bit of respect and benefit of the doubt due him and his staff after what's he had to work with from that piece of motherfucking bottom of the shit-pile, Schroyer. Shyatt has built and is building a very good thing here. He's been able to redshirt young talent for fuck's sake!

I already think 2016 is a great year, in the grand scheme of things. Watching Josh Adams and whoever is on the floor is pretty entertaining to me, win or lose. The team chemistry is just as good as last year. Maintain that and there will always be good things ahead.

What do you want?

Absolutely agree. This season is going exactly as I expected, in fact, Adams is actually playing better than I anticipated. This team will not have any easy wins in conference, and will have quite a few double-digit losses. That's not to say that they are "off track" or anything. We knew this was going to be a rebuilding year, and Coach Shy certainly knew it as well. This season is about watching our young pups develop and learn and hope that we can be back in title contention next year instead of in 2 years.

I think it's happening differently than a lot expected. Adams is destroying the world and everyone else, especially the bigs, look borderline incompetent at times. It's tough to see a bright future with this teams some nights.

I think that is probably the disappointing part. A rebuilding year is not a big deal and as a fan I kind of enjoy watching a core develop like we saw with Nance/Adams/Cooke/Grabau. However, the sophomore class has really not shown the development we had hoped for. The veterans (Adams and JMac) and the freshmen(James and Naughton) have all impressed, but we have a huge sophomore class (a couple of which are 3rd year guys) that has really not shown much production or development.

Yeah I'm bummed on the development of the soph class too not to the extent as others on here. Something we might need to keep in mind that popped into my head reading your post is Jason McMan. Think of how he looked frosh to soph. A lot of us on this board wondered if he was gonna really be D-1 MWC material myself included. Now look at him. 2nd leading scorer, our best 3 point shooter, solid teammate, solid defense, and the fucking dude is from Wyoming!!!!!! Any of those sophs could do that too (they could also redshirt like J Mcman if they feel it). Our board is a bit unrealistic for sure, I feel Poke nation's pain as I'm impatient as well. There are still PLENTY of good things going on in our program. We don't even know how we're gonna look at the end of this year yet because we have a coach that develops teams to the bitter end. Our team fights to the bitter end. Yes I want some bigs to step up, but we've got a team that will battle till the dying whistle for the shirt and each other. That's a great fucking thing and its just one of the many things going on that I like.
