Kind of OT, but certainly Wyoming related.

In short, Laramie is going to get a new high school to replace LHS within the next few years, and it'll be located out by the Laramie Rec Center (clear out by Wal-Mart, to those of you who haven't been here in a few years).

It's both good and bad. It's good, because LHS being 50-60 years old badly needs to be improved many ways, and I remember a lot of talk going on back when I was there about adding a whole new wing or something for new facilities. However, the location means it will be quite a ways away from most homes (walked there when not recovering from knee surgery as it was just a short walk from my place).

What would really be interesting, and probably the sign of the apocalypse, would be if Gillette would build a second high school. Although I have heard rumors that it might happen.

Nice that the boomerang finally decided to write an article more than two weeks after the announcement.

The school district announced this on November 3

It would really help growth in that area of town. I could see them finishing some of the long term plans such as extending 30th street to I-80 and finishing Bill Nye as a through street.
