good morning Saturday!

while I was working last night... I couldn't stop thinking about what this game represents... on the bottom line

what I came away with is that we have nothing to lose, what-so-ever...; correction, we could lose a healthy starter.

on the other hand; Oregon, whether they admit it or not, has everything on the line. this fact has a glaring effect on the game, which may or may not be achieved.

subconsciously, Oregon is... afraid. they wont admit it, they will never show it... unless we get them to a nail bitter in the fourth quarter. Wyoming is full of courage, Oregon is full of confidence.

at all level of sports, upsets happen. there is a critical moment towards the end of the game, where the juggernaut starts to lose their confidence...

ussr vs usa miracle on ice... giants vs the patriots, broncos vs the seahawks, Utah vs the crimson tide... the list goes on. but something happens to the favorite. its psychology. the coach speak, the team speak, the attitude, the fan confidence, the media perception; all these factor into the mind of the players.

last week, Oregon said MSU was the biggest game of their non conference schedule... which is false. I will explain. If the number 3 team plays the number 7 team, while great for tv, the effect at the end of the season for a loss to either team is not as great or detrimental as a loss against Wyoming. Wyoming is the most important game of oregons season, next to the national championship. if they lose to Wyoming, there is a world of pain for Oregon for the next 4 months.

so while the coachs, the players, the media... all talk this game up... and talk down to Wyoming; all that does is build a monster in the closet for the Oregon players. they wont talk about it, they wont think about it consciously... as long as the game starts to play out the way they feel comfortable with, then they will strut like they told us so. no worries... all is good in the land of Eugene.

but if we keep this close going into the late 3rd quarter... all that psychology rears its ugly head. the stress and weight of their entire season comes into light. the coaching staff starts to punch babies. the players start to bicker and place blame; and a very real and tangible fear awakens. the juggernaut sideline starts to look like they are watching a tennis match... watch the play, look up to the clock, watch the play, look to the clock.

trust me, its a long shot... and a rare shot at immortality. but it has happened, and will happen again.

write your own history cowboys. I don't care if you lose, I want you to win, but wont lose sleep if you don't. however, if you win this game, you will be remembered throughout football history forever. your name will be printed and saved in somebody's attic. Your name will go on.

beat the ducks, shock the world.

We all know we weren't going to play Oregons game and beat them with speed. So having Bohl and his power style can only help us.
They don't know about us. They have played tougher competition sure, but they knew about them.
We are the hangover team. We are the cupcake. Why would they be up for this game?

Go Pokes! Leaving Corvallis in an hour and headed to Eugene!

I'm not trying to be rude on your board, but that is a bit of ridiculous statement. MSU was definitely a bigger game for the ducks. Good luck out there and I hope both teams avoid injuries to so they can have great seasons.

The next game is always the biggest. For some reason we always try rating games. If you win, you can talk about how big a win it was, until then, the next game is the most important

I can't disagree with someone who has that gif as their signature.
