Just got my student texas ticket

I'm going to the game. WOO HOO. When I left the Union it looked like between 500-1000 people were waiting in line, and this was at 9:10 this morning only 10 minutes after they started handing them out. Also since the ticket handout windows opened at 9, it meant pretty much anyone with an 8 or 9 am class this morning was not in line yet. If the line keeps up like this all day, I don't think we will have much trouble handing out all 7000 tickets. I certainly will be very dissappointed if the other students don't step up and get tickets.

Do you know if it is true...that if not all 7000 UW student tickets are picked up by a certain date, the remaining go back on sale to the public?

I don't know if that is true or not, but I have heard the same thing. I would expect if they are not all picked up they will go on sale so there are no empty seats left. Students can pick up tickets for the next 2 weeks though. So if any are left, they won't go on sale till the week of the texas game.

I just got mine too! Got from the classroom building to the union in record time and beat the line..1person was in front of me in "line"...but as I was leaving the union, the line was backed up the stairwell by Panda Express and back by the bank.

McPeachy, I don't know if thats true...but that seems to be the rumor. These things are going like hotcakes tho.

Are the student tickets for specific seats or are they general admission for the student section?

Student tickets are general admission.

That line went up and down when I ate lunch. I won't be surprised if they are gone by the end of tomorrow.

I felt much relief after I recieved mine. 8-)

there was an annoucement by AD that if there are left over student tickets it will be open to the public I believe for $55. I don't recall the date that the student need to pick up their tickets by. Let me find out or if anyone here has that information please post.

Kiora.

Wyomingathletics.com says Sept. 4th is the last day for students to pick up tickets, I also believe that is what the signs on the pickup windows said.

I talked to some people working the student ticket window this morning. As of the end of yesterday 3500 of the 7000 tickets had been handed out.

That is interesting. 1/2 of the tickets gone, the first day. I don't know if that is good, or bad. I would think that of the 14K +/- students enrolled, tickets would have been a very HOT commodity...and been gone after one day.

I guess we'll see...

I would have thought so too. I wonder though how well everyone knows about it. If a student is a casual follower of Cowboy football and does not post on these boards or check the ticket site (since we all usually get in the game with our ID only) they would not neccessarily know about picking up a ticket. As far as I know no emails have been sent announcing that tickets have to be picked up, and the only sign I have seen is on the pickup windows in the basement of the union. Hopefully if they aren't all picked up soon, some emails will go out to let the casual followers know.

I would have thought UW would have communicated it better...with registration or something to that effect. After a while though, a student would have to be pretty far out of the loop to not know what is going on, and how to get tickets, etc.

UW doesn't lose either way, if there are any left, it is money in the bank.

ASUW newsletters go regularly out to students via email once or twice a week. I emailed the person who is in charge of the ASUW newsletter about putting the student tickets to the texas game on it, and the person who is in charge emailed me back and said on this coming monday's newsletter it will be on it. So at least if anyone looks through that and hasn't got a ticket by monday they will have a few days to pick up their tickets.

Anyone else have an update on how many are left after 2 and half days of giving them out?

As a student I recieved 2 emails about the Texas tickets plus an ID in the spring. Since then only the Stampede group even mentioned anything. If I were a freshmen, I don't know if I would know what is going on. I am surprised we haven't sold out. I saw all sorts of people getting tickets and now it is only a trickle. Maybe word of mouth will help and convert some people to the poke side.

C'mon students! Buy up your allotment, get drunk, and bring all the betties to my tailgate in the Brown lot! If the student tickets are not all accounted for to UW students, I'll be crushed.

Agree, I will be very disappointed the UW student body (in general) if the 7000 isn't taken up.

Anyone have any updates?

Can students buy guest tix for the Texass game? I know a couple folks who are current students who initially said they couldn't get guest tickets to that game, but that they can now. For most games, students can buy two guest passes at a reduced cost (12.50 last year), but is that the case for this game? Anyone know?
