Just because we need another Brett Smith thread

I like Brett. I think he is a very good player. We will miss his play-making abilities, but think we will find others to fill in behind him - be it Thompson as the QB, the running backs, the O-line, the defense - hell, the kicker. It is time to wish him the best and move on. Brett had gaudy numbers and was the show because we had no one else.

Just because an FCS fan hasn't heard of a kid that the Mannings and Drew Brees and NFL scouts are high on, doesn't mean he has bills to pay.
He doesn't come from a poor family. He is a legit NFL prospect, whether YOU have heard of him or not, that is why he is going to the draft.

Give Welniak 3 years. Give Wallwork 3 years. They would have had astounding numbers too. We have had those sorts of quarterbacks at UW.
My point is not to bag on Brett - he is owed his due. Certainly one of the Top 5 QBs to play at UW - taking it a step further - Top 3. This said, if we would have had an O-line and an ability to run the ball, he wouldn't have had to have done it all. We didn't and he did.

I don't know lakesbison and personally I don't care for most of his posts about NDSU. But the mods should remove that information. Things posted to a message board show up in google searches and it would be unfair to lakesbison as a potential employer (that would not otherwise do their own background check) may see that.
