The MWC does not look good right now, and Wyo may be one of the best teams in the conference, based off of this first week of football. But I will give the teams who won their game a higher ranking than those who lost, even if I think a team who lost played better than a team who won, because in the end winning is what matters.
1- SJSU. Beat an FCS school 24-0.
2- Fresno St. Carr looked amazing, while passing 73 times against Rutgers.
3- AFA. Took it to an FCS school, like they should have.
4- Wyoming. Easily looked the best of the teams who lost. Lost by 3 @ #18 Nebraska. Maybe the best performance by a MWC week 1.
5- USU. Lost by 1 to Utah in SLC. Didn't look that impressive though.
6- Hawaii. Didn't look good, but was playing USC, and only lost by 17.
7- Nevada. UCLA killed them, but it was in LA and UCLA is ranked.
8- CSU. Lost to Pac12 Bottom-Feeder CU by 14. Game wasn't as bad as Hawaii, or Nevada, but those 2 teams played ranked teams.
9- UNLV. Got SMOKED on the road against a pretty bad Big10 team in Minnesota.
10- Boise St. Holy shit they looked awful. Only scored 6 points. Regret not offering Brett Smith Mr. Peterson? Blown out by 32. Did I mention they were ranked going in?
11- New Mexico. Lost to an FCS team at home, by 8.
12- San Diego St. Got embarrassed by an FCS team at home. Not just lost but lost by 3 TDs LOL!
1 game is way too small of a sample size and I know things will change but as an overall complete team performance, considering the teams everyone played, hard to say that Wyoming isn't the best team in the conference (after 1 week).
SDSU, and Boise both looked HORRIBLE! And there was talk about them being in the MWC Title Game this season! HAHA!
And didn't they think they belonged in a BCS conference not too long ago?
