LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec. 31, 2015) -- Wyoming women’s basketball head basketball coach Joe Legerski announced Thursday that an MRI confirmed senior forward Jordan Kelley will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an injury in the Cowgirls 84-77 loss against San Diego State on Dec. 30.

“Any loss to a basketball program is magnified due to the number of players on a team,” Legerski said. “Jordan is a player that everyone wants in their program. Over her career, she has battled through a number of injuries and continued to play the game she loves. Points and rebounds can be replaced but the leadership and heart of a lion takes time.”

Kelley, from Gillette, Wyo., tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee. She will be scheduled for surgery and is expected to make a full and complete recovery.

Kelley had started in all 11 games this season and was averaging 10.5 points and a team-leading 9.3 rebounds. Last season, she was selected the MW Newcomer of the Year after spending the two previous seasons at Washington State.
