I'm ecstatic coaches realize there's a problem with talent at receiver and are going out and addressing the issue - but 3 juco receivers seem like a little much when you're talking about building a program rather than going for a quick fix.
WR is a GLARING weakness on this team. I think its a good move. Coach said sometime that a good spread team should have about 10 serviceable WR's on the team. No harm in getting some quality JC guys this year to hold the fort down the next two years as we get more freshman in next year to start grooming. It should allow us to redshirt some more guys next year.
When you add in the 10 receivers part, then I get it. I just don't want to get into a pattern where the team needs three JUCO receivers every two years - or just relying on JUCOs too much.
I don't think we're done recruiting receivers. We only have 15 scholarships filled right now, we have ten more to give this year. I would expect to see a couple of three star freshmen receivers sign in this class as well.
