It's BRONZE BOOT Week!

Brett Smith in yesterdays post game interviews expressed his frustration with the way 2012 has gone for the Cowboys. Even a bowl game is now out of reach for this team, but there is still one extremely important football game left: The Bronze Boot game. This 113rd year old rivalry will renew this weekend, and Wyoming opens as a -9.5 point favorite. Colorado State is coming off a 42-27 victory over piss poor Hawaii. 14 of those points came off of defensive TDs.

I expect both teams to save their best performances for this game. While things do suck right now, do remember the 2010 team was awful too, but went gangbusters on this Colorado State team with a 44-0 win. Will history repeat itself? It has so far in 2012.

Enough with the doom and gloom.....post your thoughts on this game. Best UW-CSU memory? How much does UW win by?

Hawaii's QB handed CSU the game on a silver platter. I post on Sports Hawaii and the game thread comments there were super hilarious. Made me feel better after Boise kicked our ass.

Best UW-CSU memory? - 2009 beating them in the final minute to go bowling.

How much does UW win by? - I can't imagine by 44 points this time, but I say by 2 TDs minimum. Actually, make that 3 TDs.

Both teams have been so bad, that one of the major topics this season has been drowned out: CSU's eventual new stadium.

I'm sure the Pokes would just love to shove that stadium right back up the Rammies asses.

I have mixed feelings about this game.

Part of me wants to see us beat the ever living shit out of Fort Fart State.

But a part of me wants them beat the crap outta the Pokes so it would force Burman to fire CDC and end this dumb nightmare. :tickedoff:

There's little doubt in my mind that the Pokes win this game. CSewe is awful.

Yeah, they won a game, but they beat Hawaii. And if you look at the box score, Hawaii won that game in every statistical category but the final score. 100 more yards, 10 more first downs, converted 38% of their first downs to CSewe's 16%, held the ball for nearly 13 more minutes. Both teams had 5 turnovers. the lambs capitalized, Hawaii didn't, and they beat themselves.

I don't see Smith making that many mistakes in this game at home. I also expect our defense to be a bit better against a freshman QB (made his first start against Hawaii). And I'd hope that DC has used his extra time to do some game planning for this one. He knows that his seat isn't quite as warm if we win this one, and a good drubbing of the Lammies would do wonders for this team right now.

No, I expect this one to be a win. Probably closer than any of us would like it to be and likely a relatively high scorer, but still a win. And I'll be there to support the team.

GO POKES!

There's one thing I know for sure: HCDC will NOT lose that boot! It is the centerpiece of their locker room, and every single one of those players knows that they'll be staring at a hole if they lose it. No way the sheep beat us this weekend. No. Way.

Sheep are feeling confident this week. Loser of this game won't win again in 2012.

I don't have a lot more games as a student at UW and I want this one to be a good memory :) I remember when we beat CSU in Fort Collins last year and Brett jumped into the crowd. I was front and center and the whole time I was thinking, this is AWESOME but please don't' fall :)
