The NCAA is one of the most corrupt organizations of the face of the planet. They do nothing but exploit the athletes. They are pasting their uniforms with ads from Nike, Reebok, Adidas (these kids have more ads on their uniforms than a NASCAR driver)....the stadiums are full of ads ranging from banks to oil companies, and the radio and television coverage is nothing but one commercial after another. The athlete's take in all of this - a big fat goose egg.

Actually they get less than nothing. You can't even buy a kid a soda at a 7-11, yet the cartel known as the NCAA can prostitute the hell out of them and give them nothing in return. I've heard all the arguments about them getting an education and in many cases that argument is bull shit. These kids aren't even guaranteed a 4 year scholarship. They literally have to try out for their "job" every year, and if they don't live up to expectations, or are injured, or just having a bad couple of days, they toss them aside like yesterday's garbage. Then what happens to that degree the university promised them? Most of the time they can't afford to finish school. With all of that said, the NCAA will happily crucify them for accepting a Big Mac from a supporter. F#CK the NCAA.

What pisses me off is how major programs like Oregon, Oklahoma, Auburn, and others get caught cheating but the NCAA just gives them a slap on the hand but yet crucifies a program like SMU with the Death Penalty. The NCAA is a fucking joke!!!!!

I just don't get how punishing kids who have done nothing wrong is the way things get handled.

Who gives a shit if someone buys a player a drink at the bar? How is that a "benefit"? Why can't a fan just say "Hey good game wanna beer?" Why does that bring on sanctions?

I guess with the way things are, if anyone has bought a drink for a player in Laramie, keep it to yourself!

Buying someone a beer isn't a big deal, but it's deemed a "benefit" because it blurs the line. At what point is it innocent and at what point is it too much? Do you put a dollar amount to it? It's easier to control and easier to enforce if you just make ALL benefits illegal.

I believe that keeping college athletes amateur and preventing benefits and such is a good thing. I see nothing wrong with sanctions. I do, however, have a problem with the fact that for being an "amateur" sport, the NCAA is very corrupt and it makes waaaay too much money. It has lost it's way and has lost it's original purpose.

The NCAA needs to make up it's mind. If it's going to be a business, it should pay it's players. If it's going to be an amateur collegiate organization, it needs to change it's way of doing things.

Hmmmm.

Tommy Burman doing some damage patrol (by pulling the trigger on Yerty), prior to Sternies arrival, to potentially give himself a hall pass?

Yep.

Yep.

I think so.

Hopefully the new Prez, sees the way things are ran at this mediocre MWC school and wants them to be on par at least with a mediocre Big12 school.

Holy shit. McPeachy and Beaver just had an exchange where not only did they resist bickering at each other, but actually agreed on something.

I've seen just about everything!
