Impact of University Culture on Sports

Sort of OT and I have to say that I have no concept of the current working culture at UW. However, the frequent change in leadership does indicate a potential culture problem. I stumbled across this article... https://wyofile.com/university-of-wyomings-walking-blues/

I have no idea if this guy is an outlier or just saying what the majority are thinking. If the latter, it sounds like morale is really low.

I wonder if it is really that bad, and if so, does this workplace culture make it more challenging for the athletic department?

I have some knowledge of some of the inner workings that the article you linked is referring to. Morale and workplace culture is at a very low point. There is a perception that there is a crossroads before us that we are heading towards but nobody can see through the fog. The university is a bit of a microcosm of society in this respect...there seems to be a lack of the ability to communicate a vision and get buy in. Ultimately, organizations without that ability to communicatee and generate buy-in, eventually succumb to a sort of internal friction that grinds everything to a halt.

The article itself is pretty accurate as it speaks to the facts about what has happened though I take issue with the assignment of morals and motives to certain people. Even with the type of strong communication that I'm describing, these years ahead of us (both for Wyoming and the country) will be difficult....without it....it may be devastating.

The instability at the upper level of administration. Isn't helping. The football program is in shambles. Perhaps it can't be corrected... that's the elephant in the room.
