I'm seeing a lot of fans who were spoiled

By coach c's ability to get amazing quarterbacks. A lot of people are showing surprise and anger toward boel and have to remember the time crunch he is under and the difficult task of replacing not only a starting qb but also the next guy in line for qb.

I would warn poke nation to prepare themselves for the worst and hope for the best ala when acs left us high and dry when Brett smith was recruited. Hopefully boel can find a diamond in the ruff but this late in the game it could be ugly. I'm just happy he's found someone who may be able to manage an offense so far.

That spread offense will do that, have good H.S. QB's want to play for a guy that is (spozed) to be good at running it, it'll be interesting to see what Bohl does and gets, time will tell

remember wyonation, bohl & staff don't need a stud QB to be successful. they ONLY need a QB that doesn't throw interceptions......thus keeping ball control, time of possession offense combined with a kick ass defense.

got it? relax, Wyoming will be fine!

Time of possession is overrated!

Some of us don't believe it is. If you are from the new school age of Chip Kelly then you may believe that. If you are from the Bill Snyder/Mark Danantonio of the world time of position is a important element.

It is part of an equation I suppose that has to be paired with your offensive mind set. However the bottom line is simple....outscore your opponent. ;)

All I'll say is get ready for time of possession to be a key talking point with the Cowboys. Bohl is well known for milking the clock. His philosophy is very similar to Bill Snyder's and opposite of Chip Kelly's.

Uh oh! Wyonation melt down coming!

So instead of 3 yards and a cloud of rubber, is it 4?

I call that playing not to lose. But it has worked for him in FCS.....we will see how that pans out in the MWC. I understand where you are coming from and I can see it as a key point for him as well.....but it drives me crazy.

well put!!! that's what DC thought too(regardless you had a D that could hold up if you did go 3 and out many many times)

I've really never understood why we don't gas more teams that come to Laramie from lower elevations anyway!!!

I think there is a balance in milking the clock and going for the jugular.

Watching Washington State hand CSU the game through play calling at the end, including snapping the ball with 25 seconds left on the play clock, was revealing. Certainly, the two fumbles were the bigger cause, but Leach blew it, big time in the last two minutes. I also hated it when our defense was clearly gassed or overmatched and our offense couldn't get a yard if they had to, when DC kept up with his no-huddle, fast paced non-sense.

For the other side, watching DC kneel down near mid-field at the end of the half on a regular basis was maddening, which is more about DC than fast paced v. milking the clock.

If we could get a grind it out, ball control offense - I think it is a lot harder on defenses to defend. Come the end of the 3rd quarter, if we do it right, teams should not be able to stand upright.

HA HA Football Philosophy and poor coaching are two different monsters. One can mask the other however.

IMO, playing the possession game should gas the opposing D at 7,200. A bunch of 10 play drives is going to wear out opposing team defenses.

But you hve to be able to string a 10 play drive together.... 3 and out has the opposite effect...it wears our d out! LOL

True but 3 and out from break neck speed waste nothing off the clock before you bringing your defense back on the field (we saw that to often). In a more methodical offense a 3 and out is still likely burning two minutes if at least one run play was called.

Now you're talking, I spoke with coaches after title game, with NDSU's style and Laramie's elevation... you will GAS people.

Im telling you wyonation, get used to winning and get used to milking the clock, punting a lot for field position and when you're ahead the ball snaps when the play clock hits 1 You will enjoy winning.

NDSU routinely beat teams in the 4th quarter when they got sick of the pounding and pounding.... Wyoming will enjoy this too!
