Start as many threads as you want. I'll just merge them all into one, and change the title to something like "BeaverPoke's Random Musings".

This team is doing nothing without Larry. It may not win another game. We had hardly any post depth before Larry got hurt, much less now. Teams are going to stand outside around the three-pointer and dare us to throw it inside to post players who have very little offensive skill. Theo Ratliff isn't walking through that door....it's Sellars, who couldn't jump over a credit card with a trampoline.
Are you of French descent?

I love how you are vilified by a statement that is 100% correct. Larry Nance is the sun and the rest of the team are the planets if you couldn't see that you are a big dope.SDPokeFan said:I appreciate the optimism, but lets face facts. And that he feels bad for the fans who had their hopes up so much then this happened.
Shows how nice the kid is. Everyone is sitting here feeling bad for him but he is concerned about the fans because we don't get to cheer for a good team.

Slow Hand said:I used to be a huge Shyatt fan the first time he was here....but since his return he seems to have changed the way he plays and thinks. He takes the ball deep into the shot clock, not looking to score until the very end then often times shooting a very low percentage shot. What in the hell is with the three man weave on top? WE used to do that in junior high basketball. His stock has diminished in my book. He seems to play "not to Lose" which is ridiculous if anyone cares. LOL
We already have to open up one spot for the three recruits we have coming in. So for your plan to go out and get a cneter to contribute next year we would have to let 2 player go. And where are these really good 5's that have not comitted for next year and can contribute right away. Doubt there are many out there. Every team wants those guys but there are not many to begin with let alone this late in the game.NowherePoke said:In terms of the redshirt plan, sorry CJ just not going to work. Cooke has already taken a redshirt year and the NCAA doesn't allow enough redshirt years to bring Austin Haldorson up to speed.
From my point of view, Shyatt has to free up one scholarship for next year and land a big man that can contribute at the 5 spot either via JC or 5th year transfer. Go into next year with Grabau, Adams, Hankerson (if his issue can be worked out), Cooke, and this additional player as starters. Washington, McManamen, Vernon (if on the team), and Herndon off the bench.
If you get the right player (which I will acknowledge is difficult), than that team could be competitive. Sign a quality 2015 class with hopefully at least one immediate impact player and build the 15-16 team around Nance/Adams.

Just to clarify, Larry is the first in his family to have ACL surgery. His sister and father had different knee surgeries.Cowboy Junky said:BeaverPoke said:Nance said he isn't opposed to a red-shirt.

I think Larry is the key to this whole thing. His dad had three knee surgeries. His sister had three. No other family on earth knows the importance of taking your time to come back from ACL surgery. In addition, the NBA scouts know it. In order for Larry to make the NBA, he's going to have to be fully recovered without missing a step from last years form. I think Larry will redshirt.
Once that happens, guys like Grabau, Cooke, and Haldorson are going to ask themselves if they would rather play a year without Larry or a year with Larry. When that happens, I think there's a good shot we might see those guys redshirt.
