I won't participate in the witch hunt.

I don't agree with everythign the head coach does. I think he is too conservative in his end of half gameplans. He obviously needs to work more on preparing a back up QB. People should critize the coahc for things that are justified.

But some of the stuff that is posted now seems like people are reaching for everything they can. No one is happy with being 1-5, but if you think you are going to be able to fire the coach one year after signing an extension and taking us to a bowl game 2 out of 3 years, well what coach in the country would sign up for that job, especially at Wyoming? Certainly nothing better than what we already have. I know taking a team to a bowl game isn't quite the accomplishment that it used to be, but give me a break. The team has better players than we have had in a long time. They are legitametly a couple plays away from being 5-1 right now. If we were losing by 3 touchdowns every week then thats a different story.

I also fully support the coach in calling out AFA's coach on his BS. Sure they had timeouts, and they weren't going to use them then because if they don't get a touchdown on the next play, they are going to need them. Given the situation at hand, it was a p***** move that should be called out. It's easy to say after we lost the game he was being disrespectful, but given when that play happened in the course of the game, it was BS.

I'm not defending Christensen to the grave and he does need to do a lot of things better, but these witch hunt thread do nobody any good.

I agree... we have been in every game just having a bad luck season. When was the last time we were in every game 1996? This team is better than its record, the coach is better than this season's record. I'd much rather have a coach yell at another coach at the end of a close game than flip the bird across the field while getting throttled. Sure we have things to work on, but the program is better than it was 4 years ago.

I agree. We have had alot of close games in Christensen's time. Sometimes we win them, sometimes we lose them. There just haven't been alot of blowouts over the last few years.

"Sometimes we win them (2009, 2011), sometimes we lose them (2010, 2012)"

This...was the point...I was trying to make ALL off-season.....

UW is snake bitten this season.....just like 2010.

I'm actually happy that we have a backup who isn't a complete disaster - as a matter of fact, the kid is hella talented, AND a true freshman to boot!

Our defense is bad, but whatever. Like you said, at least when our offense can score, we're in the games. I'm sick of losing, but it's at least entertaining (if heartbreaking) when we're competitive.

Edit: I should revise the statement about our defense. It's mostly the corners and safeties that are bad now that the D-line and linebackers seem to be doing an okay job. It's not like the safeties and corners get beaten because they're up at the line of scrimmage, they're completely lost down the field, triple-covering the wrong guy when there's a wide open guy on the other side of the field.

So when is the At Least We Were Competitive Bowl? I want to set my DVR for it. Orange slices and juice boxes after the game for everyone?

Did I say anyone is happy with being 1-5? Please show me where I said that if I did. I'd like to know what your solution is. Is it to fire the coach?

Yes, that is exactly my solution. He is terrible. The team is 1-5. He should have been fired the day they lost to Cal-Poly. He should have been re-fired for having Colby Kirkegaard as his backup quarterback when he had a running quarterback like Smith who was eventually going to get hurt. He should be fired a third time for having an epicly horrendous defense. Should I continue, or are you going to tell me how we are three plays away from squaring off with Alabama in the BCS National Championship Game?

FWIW 2010 was not a bunch of close, last second losses like so far has been the case this year. It involved losing 45-0, 50-6, 30-6, 42-16, 34-7. The only loss from 2010 that is comparable to the losses suffered so far this year was the loss @BYU that year.

Again using exaggeration a to make a point that doesn't exist, nor has anyone been making. Who's been claiming we are 3 plays from playing Alabama? If making extreme statements like that justify your feelings then fine.

And what exactly does that fix? Who are you hiring? How is WYO affording that?

Don't get in a phizzing match Cal, obvious he is more aware of how things go than the rest of us... I'm with you this has been nothing more that a witch hunt and their are those who will never like DC. I'M not trying to sway anyone but Dave is 100% better than what Joe G and the rest of the past head coaches were. All Joe could do is wave his middle finger at Classlesham in the Utah game, but everyone had a good time with that expression. How soon we forget the bad years. Dave has his monments but I would rather see him bitching at TC coming off the field than not. For the past 2 years he made progress and I for could care less if he tells me which player is going to be out for the game...thats just a bunch of cry baby beat writers looking for some press... I'm in Sc and both SC and Clemson writers get the same type of information from those coaches... face it people need to move out of the past and get a grip on the real things that happen in the world.. I ran a business of my own & I for one would not & could not devuldge information to anyone even if it was your wife asking for your info...not unless you gave me permission...

My thing is stop going away from things that are working and working well....run it down their throats and stop trying to reinvent the wheel in the 2nd half....gettin old fast

I agree. When JG flipped off the Utah coach everyone loved it and stood up for him cuz well he is Joe Glenn and he is a nice guy and remembered my name once. Now DC gets into with the air force coach after a close lose when he was trying to get off the field without incident and everyone thinks he is a classless asshole.
As far as not giving info to the press. If it gives wyoming an advantage however slight then I am ok with it. Would I prefer to know the status of our players prior to gameday...sure...but do I deserve it or does it matter if I know...hell no. So I have no personnal problems with DC and I am going to wait till after the year to see how it ends up before I form an opinion on how much longer he should get as coach.

We did run, and they started with run blitzes in the second half. A couple of times we got lucky and had false starts instead of losing 5-10 yards AND a down as their safeties came in unblocked on the ball carrier. I'm pretty sure that's why we didn't run on every play.

How is 1-5 progress? As long as we're not losing by 30, everyone is OK with winning one game a year? My God have some pride man.

SDpoke, I'm worried about your blood pressure...Now, join me in deep breathing exercises and resign yourself to the inevitable conclusion that the season is lost and the only solace available is a CSU beatdown.

This isn't DCs first dust-up with a coach.. anyone remember the end of FAU in 2009?

If you can't see that we are better off now than we were years ago no one can explain it to you. If you want to quote the record over and over why waste our time pointing out all the other information available.. you obviously want to ignore it and have some magic coach in mind who can undo concussions and penalties.

We could point out MWC coach of the year over and over and over as our only argument for why DC is great. Look at all the info, not just one years record half way through with devastating injuries and ejections..

Arguments againt DC are so similar to Tiller it is sickening...some people just don't get it.

I don't remember that it all... with Schnellengburger? (sp) I know the game wasn't televised and I listened to it on the radio but I don't recall anything going on post game.

One of the assistant coaches.. some skinny dude that would have been destroyed. There's a pic of it on the forum somewhere.
