I love this team!

I had to work during the game, but when I got home from work I immediately queued up the feed archive. Wow! I'm only in the first half, but it's like a completely different team. The tempo, the athletes, the shooting....did I mention the tempo?

I know it's easy to just say "it was just lowly Western State," but I'm not even talking about any type of comparison to the opponent. I'm solely looking at the differences between last year and this year. It's no wonder highly-talented players are wanting to come here!

And let's talk about that dunk. Are you kidding me Louis Adams?! That was ridiculous! That's definitely right up there with some of the dunks Josh did over the years and I can definitely see why the staff made the comparison early on. Wow!

Jordan Naughton will be a handful for opponents. I had forgotten that he's 6-10. I was thinking more like 6-8 before the announcer said something. That actually gives him some potential for the next level if he continues to improve his game. And I've said before that I could see McManamen surprising some NBA execs too.

I'm so pumped for this season! It's gonna be a fun one...

Don't forget where the media picked us too (just like they did in football). It's going to be fun rubbing their nose in it again.

The Media did pick Wyoming to finish 10th, but they also picked Hillary to win, lol. NY Times Publisher and Editor were apologizing today for their poor coverage. I hope the media apologies to Wyoming Football and Basketball at the end of the season because they've finally got all the pieces coming together. There is a different vibe with this team and I think Coach E has created some great chemistry. The players believe in him, each other and the system. It will only get tougher from here, but a great start.

Go Pokes!

Why is everyone so passionate that the only fun basketball to watch and the only way to use altitude to our advantage is to make sure our opponents only play defense for 10-15 seconds per possession? After all, it is more exhausting to move defensively than offensively.

I don't read coach E as wanting to shoot in 10 - 15 seconds, per se; rather, if there's a good shot early, take it. I see E saying we have the talent and depth to play intense, Shyatt-style D and the ability to run when we can and otherwise run solid offensive sets. With luck, this team will improve a lot during the year and be really dangerous come tourney time. I don't know that we'll be in the top 5 for standings, but we've got the talent to be a bear once the team adapts.

this is gonna be a fun season and to see uptempo is truly refreshing, to use 7220 at our advantage is a positive

And now we get a quality road win? Even better!

Historically, Montana is a pretty good team, so this is a good road win for sure. Going to be a fun year, probably still a lot of growing pains, but definitely fun to watch.

Yep, 20 wins in 6 of the last 7 seasons, I'd say so! And their last two coaches before DeCuire are currently head coaches in the Pac 12.

You could make a case that they have been the most impressive "cradle of coaches" among schools in one bid leagues. Going back to Jud Heathcoate, Jim Brandenburg, Stew Morrill, Mike Montgomery, etc. to modern day with Krystowiak, Tinkle, and soon to be DeCuire. Quite a lineage.
