I guess we pulled scholly offer on Lucas Wacha

gowyogo, friend of the family posted it. I liked his motor. They said it was because he was 20lbs too light. I think it's just more the new defensive coordinator because a high school kid being too light shouldn't be that big of a problem if you planned on red shirting him. I'd look more for football IQ, speed and personality. His facebook page has him wearing a wyoming hoodie already. kinda sad. We've been on the short end of decommitting kids, but this is a university and a program while this is just a kid and his family.

Interesting... not sure what would motivate them to pull a scholarship after scheduling a visit.. pretty strange.

Ncaa website says Jan 9th - 12th is a dead period. The poster said we had a coach in the kids house on Mon. the 9th making the offer, if so our staff just committed a recruiting violation. I'm calling bullshit on this. I wonder what the real story is. Link to ncaa calender: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/AMA/recruiting_calendars/2011/I/Football%20Color.pdf

he committed a long time ago so he has had an offer for quite some time. He committed on December 12th per his FB page.

I didn't feel that bad until I looked at his facebook page.....I hope the story is a bunch of BS- i like the kids motor and heart. He looks like he has some good speed and we could potentially redshirt him and use him as a strong safety/"Cowboy" position.

And how many scholarships does UW have?
How many needs to fill etc.?
So in other words how successful is this recruiting year going ??
Is it worth letting go of someone you may actually need?

Seems there are quite a few schools losing commits that they cannot afford to lose while trying to trend up.........

with only a few verbals, why would you pull a scholly on a guy who has verballed? I think we have 15 schollies to fill still, unless the coaches are counting chickens that haven't hatched yet.

we are at 11 verbals/Commits now and I think we can only sign 23 this year. My guess is there are more verbals that have not been announced
