I can't wait

To see Justin James play.

Not hitting the panic button.

Morris Marshall will ball this year btw.

I liked Shyatt's approach to throwing his bench in there to see what they are capable of.

Good season ahead.

Morris Marshall was definitely a lot like Adams during his freshmen year. Though Marshall may be a bit more aggressive (a little too much at times), but that'll be tempered in time.

I'm pretty much gonna be excited about every Shyatt season until I have reason to believe otherwise. I can't wait either. We had quite the fairy tale season last year with a dark realistic finish. I think the next time we get there we're gonna be deeper and more lethal! :fuel: :fuel: :fuel:
Just get us back again coach when you can man. Hell I can wait! I'm an old school Pokes fan everyone knows how we've suffered. Pokes=Patience

I don't think last year was a Cinderella season. Wyoming did what they were supposed to. They were the best team in the conference when healthy.

It was really fun, no doubt. I just don't think it was unexpected. When Nance got sick, we were 2 games away from having a 3 game lead in the conference race with 6 games to go against teams near the bottom of the conference. People forget how good we were before Nance went down. We were the team that won the tournament.

I agree we were definitely championship contenders all season long. I can't say how this season will play out but I Know for sure we will see a much more fired up pokes team tomorrow night then what was witnessed Saturday Night. Josh may have to carry this team on his back but people tend to forget that the MWC tourney MVP wasn't Larry Nance Jr...

Larry will be missed, a lot. Not only was an excellent all-around player, but his ego was controlled so that he made the players around him better. Not that that won't happen this year, but this team is way young. Regardless of how we played in the exhibition game, we played the starters from Nebraska and more than held our own. The kids are alright.

Larry will definitely be missed i agree he is definitely living up to that first round pick and will only get better. But we have a VERY gifted senior leading our young squad and honestly I feel he is the best player in the league and it's not even close. There is going to be some growing pains this year we have already seen that but at the same time there will be moments, that will leave you scratching your head asking yourself where did that come from.

Trey was my biggest surprise in the scrimmage. Dude is electric.

As long as he keeps his head on. The very thing we may love about him, will also leave us shaking our heads.

Sounds a lot like sophomore Josh Adams

True. I was very high on Trey as a freshman, but he needed to mature a little bit. I think he should start. Him and Adams may make for a very small backcourt, but very quick, athletic, and tenacious on defense. They will really provide a lot of on ball pressure. We don't have the rim protection we have been used to with Nance, Cooke, and Washington during Shyatt's tenure. We will have to be better defenders on the ball.
