I am damn near in tears...

Tough to be a cowboy fan right now...and for the last 9 years (exception Vegas Bowl). Time for a change, and a change that will make a difference, not a change that is for the sake of changing.

WE are the worst GD football team, with the most GD talent, I have ever seen.

McPeachy,

I have a slightly different take. I think we have no talent. The recruiting is the worst I've ever seen in my 30 years as a poke fan. We have no receiver talent and very little running back talent to go with no qb talent whatsoever. I watch us play and I think I'm watching a D2 school.

Which ever of us is right, this coach and his whole staff have to go. I'm embarrassed for our school and our state. This is the least competitive team I've ever seen, including Vic's.

I think we are as talented at RB as any Cowboys team has ever been. D-MO is a legitimate NFL caliber player. Our WR talent however is horrible. Typically D1 receivers who have no speed like ours run great routes with great hands (ala Marcus Harris). However it seems to me that our WRs cant catch the ball, cant outrun any D1 defensive back and run terrible routes.

Not sure D-Mo is NFL caliber. He has a huge heart and decent stats. But he has put the ball on the ground (not as much as Wynel, but too much). But I agree, do you guys remember Derek Armah as our feature back? Sorry, both Thunder and Lightening are better. Agree on the WRs and so far on the QBs.

Totally disagree about the talent level. We prove in fits and starts that we can play at the D1 level. I firmly believe that this is a coaching staff that is too worried about making the big mistake that they set the offense up to fail time and time again. Being conservative doesn't mean you won't turn the ball over, it just means when you do its a lot closer to your own endzone. I like Glenn as a guy, but I can't for the life of me understand why we are still trying to be conservative. Logically if we have turned it over 3+ times a game, we should just acknowledge that's going to happen and let the offense go nuts and try to overcome the mistakes instead of pretending like we are better off not trying to score and then punt.

No offense to Burman - but I have now changed my opinion on waiting until the und of the season on this one - he should have made a coaching switch this week, with the bye its the perfect time. At least the fans would see that Burman is doing what has to be done, and maybe we could get a little spark and at least not be embarrassed week after week.

I think it is tough to make a change mid-season at the college level. I also think that maybe TB is contemplating doing so though. Who do you think would actually take the reins for the last 5? If loyalty is what it seems to be...I don't know if there is anyone that will step up.

I still don't buy that loyalty thing. If Glenn is fired, Burman can retain the assistants. If they want to leave with Glenn then they don't get paid because they quit. They all have families and considering the way this thing is going, I don't see their phones ringing off the hook for another coaching job except Breske. If push comes to shove I think the assistants would stay if for no other reason than to be fired at seasons end and get their buyout at that time. Just my opinion.

I think a change at midseason has to be done. We cannot sit on our hands and wait for this year to mercifully be over. Burman needs to turn the reins over to Breske or English and see if they can provide a spark. I honestly do not believe in the loyalty crap. At least a midseason firing will show how unacceptable this level of play has been and that it will not be accepted in the future.
