"Yeah, NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND. Wyoming football is not known for being tough against the big boys like Fresno State. We will win, and we will win big. Heck, they might not score. Nebraska University: Class of 2014"

I got the above post from huskerboard. Seems we can't even hang with Fresno State according to them. I hope we stomp the living shit out of Nebraska.

Hopefully we send them home with corncobs in their mouths, I like Nebraska every other week of the year this week they are not the Cornhuskers they are the Corn (I cannot say the rest of it as I do not say that word but it starts with an F).

Congrats on the big win saturday, pokes. looking forward to the Husker/Cowboy matchup. We are enjoying some good consistent offensive output for the first time in 3 years. The Defense is not as salty as usual this year but the Bros. Pelini are working on it. I'm sure your boys will give their best effort at home and I hope we see a great game with no injuries. Best of luck to you.

Christensen & Pelini should know each other fairly well from Christensen's coaching at Missouri. Christensen doesn't have the Wyoming team quite to the level he is trying to get to yet, but he has stated he finally has the personnel (and OC) to put in his offense. I believe I read that we are in the top 4 teams in the country in the number of freshman players we are playing this year. The depth on the Wyoming team is better this year than we have had for quite a while. Next year should be even better. I hope your trip to Laramie, Wyoming is a good, safe one and the game is a good one.

I'm sure our little podunk crowd is going to be welcoming. This is going to be so much fun.

Another nugget from huskerfan92....

"I'm expecting this to be the biggest blowout of the year for us so not worried at all"

From Notgoodatmath a tasty corncob....

"Wyoming + Football = Not Good. 48-13 "

Here, follow the link to their brilliance...

We're watching them watching us watching them.

And most of them didn't even realize that Laramie is about 2000ft higher than Boulder until someone pointed it out.

Think we have any future Marcus Harris or Ryan Yarboroughs on the team? Or Jovon Bouknights or Ryan Christophersons?

Meh, I don't get people's obsession with fans of other teams thinking they'll win. Just look in our prediction threads and we did the exact same thing, especially to Weber State. And to be fair, the difference between us and Weber State compared to the difference between Nebraska and us really isn't THAT big, no matter what some of us would like to believe. If they take advantage of our secondary, they could easily hit 50+ points.

Pro tip: if you don't want to hear people saying Nebraska will blow us out of the water, stay the hell away from THEIR boards. If anybody comes here trolling, they're fair game, but so far it seems most Husker fans who have shown up here have been extremely courteous.

Honestly, what do you expect? I don't get the desire to be upset over what opposing fans are saying on their own board, and then posting it somewhere else as if you've struck smack talk treasure. Besides, if you had perused the HB forums more thoroughly (which you clearly didn't - it's obvious you were looking for people not taking Wyoming seriously), then you would have read that there are several posters over there who AREN'T overlooking Wyoming.

I think Nebraska needs to take every team seriously. Does that mean I think Nebraska will win? Yes, and for any number of reasons I'd be more than happy to debate.

What difference does it make if one fan base over looks a up coming opponent? None of us fans are playing in the game.

The players read our boards. They're not so aloof that they don't care what people say about them, even if it's just idle curiosity and not outright concern. I think there have been two/three games this year where Nebraska players have been reading press clippings and getting all puffed up and not carrying their work ethic to the game.

I could name names, but you've probably heard their names in the news already. Guys you'd expect to be dominating against "weaker" teams are nonexistent, or getting shoved around. So I think it's partially relevant what we say online. Not greatly impacting, but it has some bearing on what goes on.

I'll tell you all this much - across the board Nebraska has "better" athletes than Wyoming, but they have not played better football than Wyoming. It'd be easy to expect this to be a blowout, but I won't be surprised one bit to see the Cowboys give Nebraska more than they bargained for.

I remember when a few of the Colorado Avalanche players used to read (and every now and then even post) on the Avalanche boards. They wisely decided to stop that after seeing a few too many rabid fan opinions...

I'm pretty sure if these boards were slightly larger, Wyoming players would be stupid to come here and read too, as a lot of the time it's not exactly flattering reading material, especially after a loss.

Then again, pros these days are all over Twitter and have to deal with plenty of crap there...

I, for one, am not at all overly confident in this game. We could easily catch the turnover bug, and the altitude could end up being an issue as well. There are no givens in college football anymore. If there were then why even bother playing the game? We had all we could handle at home from North Dakota State last year. We could have easily lost that game. So as for me, I will not breath easy until we are up by 21 late in the fourth. When you are a top ten team you always get the best from your opponents. I am not comfortable at all with this game, I hope that if you do win (knocking on wood right now) your fans are good winners and don't go crazy on us visitors.

One more thing, I would never wish injury on another teams player. These are a bunch of kids that do not deserve injuries wished upon them. Some of them may have aspirations to play in the NFL some day and an injury could end a dream they have had since they were very young. So I am a little disappointed in an earlier comment in this thread.

Good luck on Saturday....but not too much :D

Yeah, sorry about that. Been kind of stressful lately and seeing how some of those Husker fans of over there insult Wyoming''s football history with no knowledge of it was basically the lit fuse for the powder keg. I want it to be a good, clean, hardfought game. And I want the Pokes to win. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't (not unless our Defense and the DC step it up), but I would not complain one bit (except maybe about the defensive play calling) if we pulled one out.

And generally, we get positive reviews of our fanbase from non-BYU fans that come here. BYU likes to spread unfounded rumors of pissbombs at Wyo games. But that's BS. We do have really good funnelcake though.

I really have a hard time believing that other than the occasional drunk (student or otherwise) that Cowboy fans would be anything but gracious hosts. It's all part of that Mid-Western values thing that we have going for us. Colorado used to be a great road trip for Husker fans until they started winning and their coach stirred the pot on the hatred towards Nebraska. In the end, only the bravest Husker fans would go to Boulder. Missouri got to be the same way, and it is very unfortunate. Visiting teams that travel well bring in tons of money to a college town. I don't get why some would not want that especially in a down economy.

All of this banter is all in good fun and is what makes college football so much fun. If everyone were all nicey nice all the time you may as well go to a tea party. So Go Big Red, and I hope the Cowboys put up a good fight (at least for the first half ;) and then the Huskers can roll.

See you Saturday, I'll be the one in Red!
