Hurry up

I don't know if anyone outside the confines of that locker room and coaches office understand the impact that this new offense is going to have once it is able to perfect this version of the "hurry up." I think the defense got a small taste of what it can do in a game simulated environment. On that note, I am not as concerned with the performance of the D and much more bullish on improvement this year. Practicing and scrimmaging against this beast everyday will do wonders for their conditioning and overall depth and development of the roster. Due to the speed you cant help but get other guys reps and I think it shows with guys like Fort and Finley beginning to emerge. By the time our D gets to gameday on Sat it will seem like a walk in the park compared to what they are subjected to regularly M-F. Our offense will have so many more opportunities for plays due to the overall quickness of scheme that I think opposing teams will try and slow the game down when they have the ball, further helping our overall defense to dial in and gameplan and get the proper set, matchup and personnel into the game.

Spring offered a glimpse of the pace of the O but the overall execution and effectiveness of it was still being learned. It is a much more closer version of the finished product now and will only be refined further throughout the remaining days of camp. I would also expect it to evolve a great deal and only become more successful as the season goes along. There is a real reason why Biemla from Arkansas called for its ban this Spring. This will truly be a bitch to defend, if you've never seen it before especially at 7220 where it really becomes a huge home field advantage. Also, when you are talking about all of these WR's that are jumping out it will only further help us because its taxing as hell to run as well. Think basketball in pads because just about the time Rob, Dom, Trey, and Jalen need a blow, we don't miss a beat with some of these other WR's that are jumping out, or flash a whole different look with the big sets. And round about the time heads are down and tongues are out off goes BSmith around the right or left end out the gate for 6 from 60. We have good depth at RB with Wick, Miller, Oscar, Omar, Tapscott, etc, We will be facing some extremely fatigued defenses so talent size and speed becomes somewhat compromised when it has just shat its pants from fatigue. My only concern is upfront if we can develop some guys and have a steady rotation of about 7-8 guys that can spell each other. Otherwise, I am very excited to see this thing take flight in Lincoln and beyond.

Your WR analysis is exactly what I was thinking. Having 6 deep at WR will be a great problem for opposing D.

I am starting to think that the Pokes can score a lot in Lincoln. Why wouldn't they be able to? This is the first time since DC has gotten here we have a upper classman QB starting (I don't count the few games before ACS took over year 1).
This offense is truly going to amaze some people, especially the Husker defensive players.

these guys on the husker forum seem to think that we can only score in garbage minutes...
they think Nebraska's walk-on team should beat us 50-0.

I understand our defensive worries, but too say that we can't score is a huge oversight. I will reserve myself... don't want to make any bulletin board material. lets wait and see

Yeah I bet you anything they were just as cocky going into the Big10 Title game then Wisconsin went off for 70 points. 70!
Then South Carolina put up, what 45?
Haha, yeah Husker fans are full of themselves...
When was the last time they won a conference title?

dam, beat me to it

Fuck those guys.
Comparing Wyoming to Idaho State.
Saying if they don't win by 28 Pelini should be fired.
Saying if they don't win by at least 40 they will be underwhelmed.
Saying the expect to win like 55-17.
Saying they should "out athlete the heck out of Wyo". Bull shit. Our offense is just as athletic if not more athletic than theirs.
Wyo will be lucky if we force a punt or get a turnover 3 times before the 4th quarter. Seriously? Martinez will be lucky if he doesn't have 3 turnovers. Kid is a fumbling machine. And we all know how accurate he is.
Saying that their 2nd and 3rd string players will be in the majority of the game because it will be such a blowout.

Oh, the expectations of being in the Big 10. The land of Ohio State...........and.......everyone else.

Good post and I like the optimism. Makes it seems like we couldn't possibly lose to Nebraska ;)

Goes without saying I think but until we prove it on the field, why should Neb think any different than pasting us by 50? You still have to execute, stay healthy, and make some luck in order to be successful. They are bigger faster and have more depth and are picked to win or contend for the B1g10 crown. Of course they believe they will hammer us as any good team would, and they are good. They should be in that mindset and personally, I want them in that mindset and all of the other teams we play this season for that matter. We only won 4 games last year anyway. Shouldn't really be any other way of looking at it. You strive to get better in the off-season and have a plan that gives you a chance to be successful, and I am confident that we are developing that on both sides of the ball and because of that we have every right to be optimistic, just like seemingly, everyone else is this time of year.

I hope Wyoming goes into Nebraska the same way Utah went into the Sugar Bowl against Bama.
Come out and start throwing the ball all over the field right away. Score, and score some more. Go up like 21-0 before the Husker fans even realized wtf happened.
